Chapter twelve

"I can't believe I overslept. Is she safe? Please God protect her wherever she is" she stutters.

Sapphire usually goes to the graveyard on her birthdays. It was her birthday, she went to the graveyard where her parents were buried.

"Mom, Dad, it has been eight years since you guys left without saying goodbye. It has not been easy for me ever since you guys left. I found it hard to believe that you guys are gone for good. While the killers are living freely as if nothing happened. I am a year older today and I am a big girl now. I promise you that I am going to bring justice to your deaths. I know it won't be easy but I am going to do it even if it cost me my life. Rest on Mom and Dad" She placed flowers on their graves and walked away without looking back. She got home pretty late because she had to get dressed for school. Immediately she walks in, her aunt ran to her.

"Sapphire, where have you been? I searched everywhere for you. You got me worried " She held her closer to her.
