He took a puff and nodded before looking at me again. “What can you do, Mia?” He asked. “I do basically anything. I can clean and cook pretty well. I used to do this at the clubhouse and my Aunt’s house. Chores don’t scare me.” I responded, and he nodded. “Great. I guess it’s settled then. You’ll take care of the house, cook, and do all necessary things and I’ll pay you at the end of the month.” He uttered, pressing the end of his cigar on the ashtray on the mini table that separated our chairs. “You’ll pay me?” I asked in awe, and he nodded. “Of course, I would. I wouldn’t let you work for free.” “But… but you bought me already. Why did you buy me if you would still pay me for what I’ll do?” I asked in confusion, and he let out a deep breath. “Listen, Mia. I don’t see you as some commodity or asset, I see you as a human. I paid that money because I was scared you would fall into the wrong hands. You seemed so innocent and scared when you were up there, I couldn’t take any chances.” He explained, and I gulped hard and nodded. “Thank you so much, Mr Cross. I don’t know how to thank you.” I responded, and he shook his head. “You don’t have to.” He responded, and an awkward silence set in after. It all seemed too good to be true. ‘What if he is just trying to make me comfortable so he can get access to my body? No man that visits my Aunt's bar is this gentle. What else does he have in mind?’ This fear haunted me regardless of how nice he was to me. I couldn’t just shake off the feeling that he wanted more than he told me. ‘What do you really want, Mr Cross?’ I thought. “I bet you’re tired now. You should rest now. It’s been a long day.” He uttered, standing up and I followed suit. He made his way into the house again and I followed behind him. “So, which of these rooms are you picking?” He asked, taking a halt and burying his hands inside his pockets. “I’ll take the first one, sir.” I pointed to the first room in the hallway. “Great. Check it out. I believe it has everything you’d need for tonight.” He responded, and I took slow steps forward, pulling the hem of my gown again. I looked back at him and I saw his gaze was fixed on me. Opening the door, I saw the most beautifully arranged room ever. It was painted white and almost everything in the room was in white and ash. Still lost in the beauty and serenity of the room, I heard his voice close to my ears. “You like this one?” He asked, causing me to slightly jolt. I looked at him from above my shoulder and realized he was just a few inches away from me. “Yes, I do. Thank you, sir.” “Great. I guess that will be all for tonight.” He responded, turning to leave. But then, he abruptly stopped and looked at me again. “Have you eaten? I can order something.” “No, it’s fine. I’m not hungry. Are you hungry? I can prepare…” “No, I’m full too.” He answered, and I nodded. “My room is at the end of the hallway if you need anything. Goodnight.” “Goodnight, Sir,” I answered as I watched him majestically walk down the hallway. I breathed out deeply and walked into the room, shutting the door, I rested my back on it. My eyes scanned the room again. It was like a dream. Having my room, bathroom, mirror?! It was a fucking dream! I ran toward the bed and jumped on it, landing on my back. Just like I expected, it felt so comfortable. I smiled widely and sat up, relieving the event of the night again. I never thought I’d laugh and smile this hard when I was asked to go on that stage, dressed like a prostitute. I bet my Aunt also had no idea that she was selling me off to a nice man, who would treat me so nicely like she never did. But… ‘What if Mr Cross wants more? It’s impossible to believe that he’s doing all this because he’s a nice person.’ He didn’t look at me with lustful eyes for once. That has never happened before. All men look at me like they want to get In between my legs. ‘Or maybe he believes I know why I’m here and I should make the first move. What else would he want from me if not my body?’ I thought, raising my brows. ‘That must be it. He wants me to make the first move. If I do it, maybe he’ll become even nicer to me.’ I sprang to my feet and headed towards the full mirror. I stood in front of it and looked at my body. Right there, I could see why men always looked at me twice everywhere I went. My curves were very evident and sometimes, I wished they weren’t like that. I pulled my gown over my head and packed my black curly hair in a rough bun. I removed my underwear and headed into the bathroom. I couldn’t wait to wash all the makeup off my face once and for all. After bathing, I found some new towels in the drawer. I wrapped myself with one and used another to dry my hair. The towel was so small that it stopped right underneath my ass. But I believed that was good. ‘If I want to make the first move, then I need to give it my all.’ I thought, nodding in agreement with my thoughts. Once my hair was fully dry, I headed out of my room and walked down the hallway to his room. My heart was beating rapidly against my chest but I kept going. I was determined to do anything that would make him happy and to repay his kindness. I got to the end of the hallway and I easily figured out which was his room because I could hear solemn music from the back of his door. I let out a deep sigh and lifted my hand to knock, but just before I could hit his door, the door opened, catching me off guard. He was wearing only shorts and that was when I noticed he had tattoos on his chest and arms. “Mia.” “Mr Cross.” We called at the same time. His gaze fell on my body and I saw his brows furrow. “What… what do you need?” He asked, and without hesitation, I loosened my towel and made it slip off my body. I slowly raised my head to look at his face and finally, I saw that familiar look. The thirsty one. He seemed shocked and speechless as his gaze locked with mine. “Is this what you what, sir?” I asked softly, keeping my stare locked with us. “Fuck, Mia. Why would you think that?” He uttered in a low tone and completely looked away. He grabbed his head in his hands and tightened his jaws. “This isn’t why I brought you here.” He added, still looking away. “But…” “Pick up the towel, Mia.” He butted in, and I nodded obediently, reaching for it. He seemed angry and this made me sad. I didn’t mean to piss him off, I just thought I was doing the right thing. Tears heated my eyes as I covered my body with the towel, feeling embarrassed and disgusted at myself. His Adam’s Apple moved up and down as he swallowed and let out a loud sigh. “Mia, I am not like the other men that come to your Aunt’s club. In fact, tonight was my first time there. I knew nothing about the Auction until it started.” He uttered, finally looking at me. “I told you that I don’t see you as a commodity to be used. You are human and you have your feelings too. You don’t have to do this. This isn’t what I want.” He added, and I broke into tears. “I’m sorry.” I shook my head in regret. “I thought you wanted me to make the first move.” “No, I don’t want any of that. Please stop crying, okay?” He responded, and I nodded, cleaning my tears with my hand. “Please don’t do that again, Mia.” He added softly. “I won’t,” I mumbled as I kept my head lowered in shame. “Go back to your room.” He said, and as if I waited for him to say that, I ran as fast as I could to my room. I slammed the door shut behind me, breathing very hard. I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me. ‘What was I thinking?’~Ethan ~ “Good morning, Sir.” My secretary greeted me as I walked towards my office door. “Good morning, Stella,” I responded with a wide smile as I headed into my office. As expected, it was all arranged and cleaned. I placed my briefcase on my table and slammed into my chair. I let out a loud sigh as I stared at the ceiling. I replayed what went down with Mia in my head again. It wasn’t the first time since last night, it was in my head throughout the night. I couldn’t forget how perfect and smooth her body was even though I wanted to so badly. Seeing her naked drove me insane, but I couldn’t show her that. I needed her to know that I didn’t get her out of the clubhouse just to use her. I just felt the urge to make sure she was safe. Last night, I was so hard in my shorts after I saw her and I even tried to distract myself by playing games on my iPad, but that didn’t work. I had to… you know, take care of that myself. ‘I’ll forget about her body soon. I know this.’ I assure
~Mia~I woke up at 11 a.m. and that was pretty strange. I couldn’t remember the last time I had stayed asleep this late. At my Aunt Alexa’s, 5 a.m., I am up, or the next thing I’ll hear is a smack on my face. But, I guess my body has quickly adjusted to this peaceful and serene life. ‘And Mr Ethan didn’t bother to wake me up either.’ I thought as I walked into the kitchen. Getting in, I found a sticky note on the fridge. I walked closer to the fridge and took a closer look at what was written on it. “Hey, Mia. I’m off to work now. I believe everything you need for dinner is in the fridge. See you.” I read with a wide smile on my face. ‘He leaves notes too? Who can be more perfect than my boss?’ I thought as I opened the fridge, and I was stunned by how stacked the fridge was with different ingredients and vegetables. I was excited because it was only going to make cooking easier for me. ‘But, should I make dinner now? It’s still quite early…” “Grrrr! Grrr!” The doorbell cut my
~Mia~ After microwaving the whole meal, I began to carry them in a large tray to the dining room, which was on the right side of the living room. As I walked out of the kitchen, my gaze fell on Mr Cross and his girlfriend on the couch, and what I saw shocked me. Sienna was seated on top of his thighs, facing him, and her mouth, I mean, the whole of her mouth was in his. Her eyes were opened and she stared at me keenly from above the couch. I gulped hard and hastily looked away. It seemed like she wanted me to see her doing whatever she was doing to him. It wasn’t my first time seeing people make out, it was a pretty common thing in my Aunt’s clubhouse, but seeing Mr. Ethan, whom I hold in high esteem doing this… It just felt weird. Especially… with her. I took hasty steps out of the dining room and into the kitchen again to bring out the remaining dishes. Every time I entered the dining room, I saw her always looking at me. ‘I wonder what is going on in her mind.’ “Mr Cross, d
~Ethan~ We began to wash the dishes together, she washed with soap and I rinsed with water. The only noise that could be heard was that of the running water and breakable plates. Though the kitchen wasn’t completely silent, I wanted to hear something from her. I wanted to hear her voice. But I knew that would be impossible if I didn’t start up a conversation. “So…” I uttered out of nowhere, giving her a jump scare. The plate in her hand slipped off and smashed into the floor causing a loud noise. The glass shattered all over the kitchen floor and she instantly fell to her knees to start picking up the pieces. “I’m so sorry, Mr Cross. I…” I moved closer to her and hastily grabbed her by the arm, lifting her from the floor. “There can be glass anywhere. You could injure yourself.” I uttered, moving her away from the spot. I looked at her legs and realized she didn’t even have flip-flops on. “Stay back. I’ll take care of it.” I added. “I’m so sorry, Mr Cross. I didn’t mean to.” Sh
~Mia~My eyes were wide open as soon as I woke up. If I were to guess how many hours I had slept, I’d say that it wasn’t more than four hours. After what I saw happen last night, I couldn’t bring myself to sleep peacefully. One time, I was thinking something was going on between my boss and me, something undeniable yet unspeakable. And the next minute, I saw his girlfriend, on her knees in front of him, pleasuring him, and he seemed to really like it considering the look on his face. Last night, I hid by the stairs on the second floor, taking a peek at whatever they were doing. I knew it was rude of me but I just couldn’t help it. The look of pleasure on his face as he was having fun made me unable to look away. I got so distracted that he ended up looking up the stairs while I was still there. I wasn’t sure if he saw me but I didn’t wait to find out, I ran to my room as fast as I could, hoping he didn’t. As if that wasn’t enough, I could hear her moans and screams coming from h
~Mia~~After a week~“Here we are,” Mr Cross uttered as soon as he parked his car in front of my school. I gulped hard and nodded, staring out of the window. There was a completely different life ahead of me, and even though I loved the idea of it and anticipated this day more than anything else, I felt scared…Scared that I may not fit in. I was scared that everyone would end up hating me like my Aunt and cousins. ‘What if I never make any friends?’ “Are you alright?” Mr Cross' question jolted me out of my thoughts, and I forced on a smile and nodded. “Yes; I am, Mr Cross,” I responded, unbuckling my seatbelt. “I hope you are not having second thoughts.” He added, and I hastily shook my head. ‘Second thoughts? It was way too late for that. Mr Cross had paid every single bill that needed to be paid. I can’t chicken out now. I won’t let him regret that he believes in me.’ “No, I’m not.” “Good. Now, let’s go in.” He uttered, unbuckling his seatbelt too, and I raised my brows in s
~Ethan~It was lunchtime and I couldn’t stop staring at my phone, waiting for her reply. Her class finished about thirty minutes ago, and my message got delivered but she didn’t check. ‘Her next class was going to start in thirty minutes, so why isn’t she replying to my text?’ I thought, dying of curiosity. I needed her to tell me how it was going and how she was feeling. I wanted her to tell me she made friends already and she was loving the school. She promised to update me on how everything was going as frequently as she could earlier this morning, but she hasn’t done that. “Hey!” I heard John’s voice from my door, causing me to raise my head. “What?!” I saw the look on his face as he walked in and I just knew he was about to piss me off. “What the hell is wrong with you? I’ve been standing behind your door for a while and you didn’t look away from your phone for once. Is something bothering you?” He asked, slamming into the chair in front of my desk. I heaved a sigh and shoo
~Mia~I took a look at my phone screen as soon as the lecturer was out and I realized that I had lost track of time.It was 4 p.m. and I finally had some time to breathe. I had been away from the school environment for a while, so I knew it was going to take a long time for me to get used to the hectic routine. I went ahead to check out my iMessage and my eyes widened in shock. I had tons of messages from Mr Cross.“Shit!!! I completely forgot to update him like I had promised.” I muttered.“Hey, Mia, are you heading home now?’ Sharon asked, pulling my attention towards her. “Erm.. yes.” I furrowed my brows in confusion.‘Do we have another class that I’m not aware of?’ I wondered.“Do you have something to do at home?” Sharon further inquired like she was heading somewhere.“Why do you keep asking her questions?” Charles butted in, moving closer to me. He had a wide smile on his face as usual. “We’d like you to join us for dinner. It would be so much fun.”“Oh…”“I mean you’re one
