Layla's POV

I woke up to a message from my dad.

This man would not cease to provoke me.

What does he want from me this time? I thought, checking his message.

He sent me a location to meet up with him, threatening to expose the truth if I refuse to show up.

“Should I just come clean and tell Alex about it.” I said aloud.

“Hmm, what's that,” Alex said, walking into the room.

How come I didn't notice him coming in? “You wanted to tell me something?” He asked, placing a kiss on my neck as I sat on the bed.

“Yeah,” I smiled, hesitating. “I want to go out with a friend.” I lied, praying inwardly that he doesn't suspect.

“A friend?” He chuckled. “You’ve never told me about them.”

“Yes, I just started making friends.” I said.

He looked at me. I'm sure he doesn't believe what I said. “It's okay, you can go see your friends. But do not trust anyone, they might be close to you because you're my wife. Wanting to use you for their personal gains.” He kissed me passionately and left the room.
