Alexander's POV

What is taking her so long? I thought. I had already planned for us to go on a date so she could ease her stress.

I know she is going through something, but I haven't figured out what it is yet.

After the death of Zara and Amelia, my suspicions about Layla increased.

I know someone is protecting her and I will find out who the person is soon.

I sat on the chair, as I sipped my wine gently.

The door flung open and Layla walked in, looking like a ghost.

I stood up to meet her. She almost collapsed, but I held her quickly.

I took her to the room and laid her on the bed.

I had better leave her alone now and ask the questions tomorrow. As I turned to leave, she held me back as she wailed.

“My mother is dead!” She lamented.

That came as a surprise. I made sure all of her bills are sorted and she gets the best treatment.

The last time I went there, the doctor assured me that she was fine and already responding to treatment.
