Alexander's POV

I was dumbfounded after hearing Layla talk. I went silent for a while, trying to process her statement.

"You've been what?" I exclaimed.

She sobbed as he explained. "I went to Amelia's place to confront her about her involvement in Zara's death, and the cops came in and took me, accusing me of murder."

I ended the call. "How dare she! I gritted my teeth, trying to curb my rage. "Amelia had gone too far!"

How is she always steps ahead of me? I thought. She couldn't have done this all by herself.

I went to the station to check on my wife. The cops stood up and greeted me, wondering why I was at the station.

Their boss walked up to me. "What brings you by sir?" He asked, his head bowed to the floor. "Do you have a case to report? We will be excited to help you out, sir." He said sharply.

"My wife is here?" I said and the whole place went silent as they looked at me, surprise and shock written on their faces.

Their boos smiled. "What can she be doing here?" He looked up
