Awakening

Lana’s POV

I woke up with a start, gasping for air. My body felt heavy, and the world around me was blurred and hazy. I blinked several times, trying to focus. Where was I? The last thing I remembered was the chaos at the clearing and the pain on my side.

I was lying on a cold, hard surface. Slowly, the fog in my mind began to lift. I glanced around, taking in my surroundings. I was in a dimly lit room, the walls made of rough stone. A single flickering candle cast eerie shadows across the floor.

“Lana?” A voice broke through my confusion. I turned my head and saw Donovan standing by the door, looking worried. Relief washed over me. “You’re awake!”

“What happened?” I croaked, my throat dry and scratchy.

“You passed out during the fight,” he said, rushing over to my side. “I didn’t know if you’d wake up.” His eyes were filled with concern, and I could see dark circles under them. He must have been worried sick.
