Now Caroline's chest felt really tight. She never imagined that Dillbert would have the heart to do this to her.

Even Dillbert's said that if she was pregnant, she should have an abortion, those words echoed in her ears now. She never expected Dillbert to just abonden her. When she though about all those memories, Caroline's chest tightened, filling with pain. It felt like her heart was being stabbed by a thousand knives. She didn't even notice the tears falling when she remembered how things used to bee between them.

"Maybe now is the time, my child." Caroline said, gently stroking her stomach.

It was still very early, but Mr. Dillbert had already arrived at the office. Coming out of the elevator, Mr. Dillbert immediately stepped into his office. He immediately looked for Caroline to check yesterday's report. However, when he arrived at Caroline's desk, the table was still empty because the owner had not yet arrived.

"She's not here yet," Mister Dillbert muttered when he saw Caroline's table still empty. He looked at the watch on his wrist and the time showed 10 minutes past 7.

"Maybe she'll here soon." he thought.

Dillbert then entered his office and began checking the files piled on his desk, going through them one by one. As time passed, he finished riviewing the files. When he stepped out of his office, caroline's desk was stil empty, and for some reason, Dillbert started to feel uneasy.

"Where's Caroline?" Dillbert asked one of his employees.

"Caroline has resigned, sir."

"WHAT?!"

Dillbert was shocked beyond words. Then he rushed to the HRD room. He opened the door so hard that the people inside were shocked. The Head of HRD got up from his seat then bowed respectfully to his boss.

"Where's Caroline? Who gave her permission to resign?" Dillbert demanded angrily. the employees in the room shrank back, intimated by Mr. Dillbert's outburst.

"Speak! Who allowed Caroline to resign?" he snapped again, his irritabli growing again.

Now everyone in the room was really scared. They had never seen the boss this angry before.

"I handed Caroline's resignation letter to you yesterday, sir." The HR head answered fearfully.

"I never received it!" Dillbert replied curtly.

"Mrs. Jasmine, your mother received it, sir."

Hearing this, Dillbert rubbed his face roughly, "How could he have missed his mother. Yesterday he was asked by his mother to sign something but his mother said it was a receipt for renting the ball room for his wedding with Sally. Because he really didn't read the contents of the paper, he just signed it straight away. And of course her mother was very happy to see Caroline resign, because since she found out that her son was in a relationship with Caroline, she really hated Caroline. She even often insulted Caroline because she really didn't want her son to have a relationship with an orphan and lower class person like Caroline.

Dillbert immediately left the HR office, then went back to his room to get the keys to his car. He rushed to the apartment he had bought for Caroline, there was something he had to say.

A few minutes later, Dillbert arrived at the luxury apartment he had bought for Caroline. The man paced back and forth in front of the bed. He tried to contact Caroline several times but the woman didn't answer the phone.

"Where is she? If he did leave, why did he leave all his things here?" he muttered.

His eyes stared closely at the three cards he gave Caroline lying on the bed, A black Card, A debit card, and the other was the apartment key card he gave Caroline to use. But Caroline just left the card behind.

Dillbert looked around, his eyes went to Caroline's dressing table, his gaze fell on the photo on the table. There was only a photo of him while Caroline tore the part of the sheet that had his photo on it.

Dillbert's fingers were clenched into fists. His heart was really hurt when he saw that the photo was no longer intact.

He opened the dressing table drawer, the jewelry boxes he gave Caroline were still complete. He took one of them, the contents of the black jewelry box were Caroline's favorite. He knew because Caroline always wore the jewelry that was in the black box. In fact, the last time they met, Caroline was still wearing it.

"Why are you giving everything back Caroline? What do you mean?" Mr. Dillbert asked himself.

His breath felt caught in his throat. Wasn't this separation his wish? Wasn't he the one who just threw Caroline away? Then why did her absence now feel so painfully unbearable?

He even tried to contact Caroline several times but Caroline's number was no longer active. Caroline went who knows where, there was no one left. He even threw away his cell card so that his departure could not be tracked by Dillbert.

"You really left me Caroline." Dillbert sat on the edge of the bed.

Now his mind was completely confused. The cellphone vibrated and Mr. Dillbert hurried to reach into his pocket to take out his phone, he hoped it was Caroline who called him. However, he had to swallow his disappointment because it turned out that the person who contacted him was his future wife Sally, not Caroline.

Feeling disappointed, Dillbert threw his cellphone anywhere. Right now he felt like he was really confused, he didn't want to talk to anyone other than Caroline.

"Why after she left I felt guilty and sorry for treating her like this. Isn't this what I wanted? But why did it hurt so much after Caroline left?" Dillbert whispered as he dropped his body onto the soft mattress.

Dillbert remembers all his memories with Caroline. He used to be very excited when his work was finished, it felt like this apartment was the most comfortable place for him in the world, Caroline, who came home from work first, always greeted him with a home-made dress and a sweet smile. On the dining table, various appetizing foods were served there. Truly, Caroline was not only a place where he could vent his lust, but for him, Caroline was the most comfortable home for him.

Dillbert got up and walked towards the kitchen. He still hoped that Caroline would return to this apartment but apparently not, the kitchen was impeccably clean.

Now Dillbert really feels lonely, he thinks his decision to marry Sally, his first love, was the right decision. However, it turned out that Caroline had only left for a short time, making his chest very tight and painful.
