Chapter 38: Abort mission

The bullet made a loud, sharp ear-splitting report, deafening everyone. No one knew where the shooting came from, but a sharp pain against Arthur's leg, made him realise that he'd been shot.

“Whattttt?” His eyes widened in shock as he fell to the bare marble falls, the pain in his leg intensifying. Sam gasped and wondered where the gunshot had come from.

“Where is it?” He mumbled, grabbing his coat which in it, was a pistol, his eyes scanning the dark room.

“You don't have to worry yourself, Arthur,” Freedman's voice echoed across the silent room. “I wouldn't do that if I were you, Mr detective,” he added.

Arthur grunt, gritting his teeth, refusing to lose, he got up despite the pain in his leg. He pulled out his gun and directed his aim towards Freedman, who looked like he was enjoying every single moment.

The air was thick and filled with tension as the two enemies locked eyes. Freedman's smirk was very evident and he chuckled. “You remind me of your father, too bad he is late.
