Chapter 40: “What's Emily doing here?”

“We'll get through all this and find him wherever he may be and for that, I promise,” Khloe recalled the last statement she told Anastasia with determination. But now, as she stared at the ceiling, she felt a sense of doubt creeping in.

She thought about Anastasia and her missing cousin the whole time as she laid on her bed. The letter, which she had promised herself not to think of, was right there on a small table beside her bed. She laid into her bed and held the note in her hands.

“Who's M? And why did you have to write this letter? Is this a prank, or something more sinister?” She thought to herself, as her thoughts swirled, refusing to let her sleep. She groaned, rolling herself over the bed, with the letter burning a hike into her mind.

Finally, Khloe threw off her covers and got out of the bed, determined to shake off the feeling of helplessness.

“I've already given her my word, I must do something about it real quick,” she thought out loud, while pacing back and fort
