Chapter Fifty Five: Nanny Jesse

Jesse's POV

Aunt Serena went to the kitchen to get food for Tamara. her laughter echoed through the hallway as she made her way toward Tamara’s room with a tray of food. I followed behind, still unsure of how she planned to make Tamara stay. She had insisted I go along with her plan, even though I had no clue what she had in mind. No doubt Aunt Serena was a pain in the ass even though she was helping me.

She opened the door with her free hand and swept into the room like a whirlwind. Tamara, lying on the bed, looked up tiredly. Her face was pale, and though she tried to muster a smile, I could see the exhaustion etched in every feature.

“Oh, darling!” Aunt Selena cooed, setting the tray down on the bedside table. “I’ve brought you some food. You must be starving! Look at you, skin and bones.”

Tamara’s lips parted, but before she could protest, Aunt Selena clapped her hands together. “Nanny Jesse here is going to feed you.”
