Chapter Fifty-Eight: Kevon's Threat

Tamara's POV

I stood in the garden, Aunt Serena’s words lingering in my mind like a haunting rhythm. Jesse had been through so much more than I could have ever imagined. Losing his mother at such a young age, the strained relationship with his father, and then being betrayed by Christina. I felt a deep sense of pity for him. It wasn’t just pity, though. There was something more. A warmth, a protectiveness over him that I hadn’t felt for anyone before.

He had come back after Aunt Serena’s revelation, his face softening the moment his eyes met mine. He walked up to me, gently pulling me into his arms. “Tamara,” he whispered, his breath warm against my neck, “I need to drive you home. Your parents must be worried.”
