Chapter Sixty-Four: Christina's Games

Jesse's POV

If there was anything like the worst days of one's life, then it would be these past few days. My father is disappointed in me, and the only woman I’ve ever truly loved Tamara seems to be done with me. I couldn’t blame her. But how had I let this happen? I felt broken, like everything I’d built up in my life was crashing down around me.

I woke up today with my head pounding, as if it was trying to punish me for whatever mess I'd gotten myself into. The room spun as I sat up, my body heavy with the weight of everything that had gone wrong. There was a faint hope inside me that this was just a nightmare, one I’d eventually wake up from, but the cold reality was settling in faster than I could shake it off. I was in my room, alone, but that didn’t erase the memory of me in bed with Christina from the night before.
