John texted her early the next morning. The text read ‘You will need to run into Melinda Iron casually. She is the organizer. She is staying at the Miton in Midtown. Usually at the hotel restaurant See her picture below.’

Lucky for Alessa she remembered Melinda Iron. She had worked with her team a few years back for a feature in PHAT. John had sent a picture of a motherly blonde woman, with kind tired blue eyes, and normal wrinkles. To Alessa’s shock, she didn’t look rich, or someone trying to be young.

Alessa arrived at the grand Milton wearing her usual clothes, jeans and a black shirt, and not the tight dresses she’d worn every day lately. The dining room had gold ceilings, dark red walls, and patrons all in casually expensive clothes. In the sea of the rich, she spotted Melinda, sitting alone on a table reading an actual newspaper.
