Chapter 70

Alessa didn't knock but banged on the door.

“I am coming. I am coming.” She heard Aspen say on the other side.

As soon as the door opened Alessa flung her hand straight at Aspen’s face. The slap was so hard Aspen’s face turned. She placed her hand over her cheek.

“Should I throw you down and kick you so we are fully even?” Alessa threatened. “Or claim your first kid as my own since I lost mine because of your selfishness and stupidity.” Alessa's eyes were red and wet, but it wasn’t due to her sadness, it was anger.

“Alessa,” Aspen stated like she had just understood who was at the door.

“Alice Kelly, actually.”

Turns out Aspen wasn’t talking to Alessa because a few seconds later James appeared.

“What the hell?” He sighed.

Alessa raised her hand again and her chest purred in satisfaction when she saw Aspen flinch, but before she could make contact again James grabbed her hand and pushed her back. Aspen yelled out a cry.
