Chapter 75

8 o’clock came and went but Kyle didn’t show up. Alessa waited for him in her silk robe and excitement. She hoped for a more official and less confusing reunion than their last few because Frank wasn’t a fear anymore—at least not for now. By 8:45 Alessa decided to make her worries into action. She called James.

“Do you know where Kyle is?”

“Um—yes, he is with me—OW—but I’ve been asked not to tell you,” James replied, though Alessa could barely hear. A lot of noise was coming from his end.

“Tell him to stop being a little brat and come to my room.” She yelled.

“He is nodding a no.”
