Chapter 26

Natalia's POV

Threatening Gabriel was the right thing to do. I just couldn't imagine him divorcing me and being with my sister. The thought alone made my blood boil.

Gabriel was already gone by the time I woke up. He must have wanted to avoid me after the previous night, but he wouldn't for long.

A naughty thought popped into my head. I took a sip of my coffee and stood up from the dining table. With a new goal in mind, I trotted up the stairs and into my room.

I was still in my night dress, so I pulled it off and stepped into the bathroom. I turned the shower faucet to make the water warm before letting it trickle down my body.

I turned to take a look at the mirror on the wall and noticed the hickeys that gave me away. It made me cringe in disgust. I wanted to get it off my body so I reached out for a sponge and scrubbed my skin vigorously until it turned red. I wanted to wash away all the marks and reminders of Mad from my body.
