Chapter Thirty Seven

Adrien

Even though I recognize Rosalie as a capable and independent adult who can take care of herself, it doesn't stop me from worrying about her. It's 3 pm, an hour past the time I anticipated her return, and she has not arrived. While I aim not to appear clingy – a trait I don't possess and will never possess– the reassurance of hearing her voice would ease my concerns about her well-being.

Considering the possibility of her being stuck in traffic or forgetting to inform me about her return time, I chose to release my concern and give her a call.

"I'm not a clingy person," I muttered to myself while dialing her number. "I'm just worried about her, that's all." Putting the phone to my ear as it started to ring, relief washed over me as she answered, "Hello?"

"Thank God, you're alright," I sighed.

"Why wouldn't I be?" She chuckled.

"It's three pm, and you said you'd be back by two," I reminded her. "Are you held up in traffic?"
