Chapter 43: Sorry

Hendrix almost forgot about it, but as soon as his mother mentioned the banquet, he heard Margaux's voice in his mind.

“You're engaged with.. who?” his father queried with brows deeply furrowed.

Hendrix's eyes squinted while looking at his father. He could see that he was genuinely clueless, unlike his mother who looked like she had seen a ghost with her face drained out of blood and fear in her eyes.

“Do you know who she is?” he asked darkly.

“H-how would we know? You haven't introduced her to us,” Wilma retaliated.

Hendrix nodded his head then chugged down the liquor. “You don't really know her, Mom?” he queried.

Wilma gasped, “I…really don't!” she exclaimed. Her demeanor immediately changed as she glared at Hendrix. “What are you on about?” she hissed.

Hendrix quickly emptied the bottle of liquor then slammed it on the table so hard afterwards. Both the table and bottle cracked because of the strong impact which surprised David and Wilma.
