But then her focus shifts to Josh, and I feel a bit relieved.

"You know, sometimes I forget that you are still with that joke of a man," Josh tells her.

"Are we back at this discussion again?" she asks. "Well, I'm here to make sure everyone is doing their jobs in their offices instead of making out with their employees," she says, eyeing me and leaving my office.

Josh just laughs and tries to continue with the kiss, but I am not in the mood for PDA. His sister knows how to ruin a good time.

"What's up with your sister?"

"She just got back, and I know she will get used to you with time.”

Sometimes I wonder why he stays oblivious to his sister's behavior towards me. I feel like screaming into his ears, "Your sister doesn't like me; can't you see it?"

He draws me closer and continues kissing me. I can't be mad at him for too long as I lean into his touch and hug him. We kiss some more. I enjoy being around him; he makes me feel special.

I find my voice and tell her, "He is in a meeting," and walk away.I go about my business in the office, determined not to let anyone put me down. At the close of work, I go home and meet my mum and Ava talking in the living room."Good evening, Mummy.""Good evening, dear. How are you?""Very well, Ma."I go to my room and pack an overnight bag to spend time with Josh and tell him everything, right from my time with Nolan in Coupeville to our kiss at the dinner. Then Ava walks in."Hi, Harper.""What's up, Ava?""Where are you packing?""To Josh's place.""He is romantic, unlike you. No iota of romance in your blood," she says, rolling her eyes."How is Shawn?" I ask her."He should be fine. We had dinner, and he was pleading. But my instinct keeps telling me a babe is lurking in the shadows," Jane says between hiccups."What are those things you've noticed?" Josh asks."He hardly calls me. When I call, he doesn't pick up, and when he eventually does, he tells me he's busy and promises to call back but never does. He calls off dates at the last minute without an apology.""We were together one night, and he got a call, and left immediately. He said he had dinner with a client he plans to bring into his new company."Hearing that, I begin pacing. Could it be the same day we had dinner, I think? She continues crying, "I know he went to see a lady.""You are right, Jane.
