Chapter Fifty-Three

"Can't I surprise my girlfriend again?" he says, pouting.

He looks cute with that expression. He opens his arms for a hug. I lean into his arms and kiss him passionately, letting out all the emotions I had stored.

Releasing me, he looks at me with concern and asks, "Are you okay?"

I nod without saying a word.

"Shall we?" he asks.

"Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise."

We are leaving in his car when I ask him, "What about my car?"

"Don't worry, I've sorted that out."

Like a perfect gentleman, he opens the car door for me. I thank him as he walks around to get in himself.

The ride to our destination is lively. I turn on the radio and search for a station playing a song I like. "I'm the World's Greatest" comes blasting through the car speakers, and we both hum along.

I notice we have stopped. He helps me out of the car and leads me to a rooftop. The sight is beautiful, the city lights illuminating a special place prepared for us with lighting, flowers, and lanterns. I am in awe of the b
