“But you said you were schooling in England. How come you are here in Boston?” Amber asked, confusion etched on her face. Axel chuckled. “I told you I was schooling in New England, USA, girl,” He poked her forehead. “How come you get good grades when you know nothing?” He rolled his eyes and Amber suddenly remembered. He had mentioned something like Massachusetts… she suddenly gasped. He was referring to Boston. Boston is located in Massachusetts. She facepalmed, realizing that she had misquoted him. “Oh my gosh!” She suddenly exclaimed and sat on the bed. She had thrown a tantrum at home because she thought her parents were taking her to a place she’d never get to see Axel ever again. But they had actually brought her straight to him, and not just that, she was going to be living under the same roof with him. Her eyes suddenly lit up, and she was overwhelmed with happiness. She thought of how she’d get to see him every day and not just that, she’d go to the same college as him— “Cat eyes!” Axel poked her forehead, snapping her back to reality. She gasped and looked at him. He shook his head and folded his arms. “Are you thinking about how you're going to make up for lost time or how you're going to survive being in the same college as me?” Axel teased, his eyes glinting with amusement. Amber's cheeks flushed as she realized how transparent her thoughts must have been. She playfully rolled her eyes. “Shut up!” She tossed a pillow at him. Axel dodged the pillow with ease and chuckled. “Seriously though, I'm glad you're here. It's going to be fun having you around.” He plopped down beside her on the bed. Amber's heart skipped a beat at his proximity. She had always had a crush on Axel, and now that they were going to be living in the same city, attending the same college… the possibilities seemed endless. This was what she had always wanted, and there was no way she was going to let this opportunity pass her by. “So, what's the plan?” Axel asked, nudging her playfully. “Want to check out the campus with me tomorrow?” Amber's face lit up. “Yes! That sounds amazing!” She bounced up from the bed, already envisioning their time together. Her, Axel, alone… She literally screamed for excitement in her head. Axel stood up and looked at her. “You have no idea how happy I was when Cole told me you got admitted and would be staying here with us…” he paused, and she turned to look at him, beaming. “So, I prepared something special to welcome my little kitten.” Amber was literally bubbling with excitement. “What! What!” He held her hand and began walking out the door. “I got your room ready,” he said and opened the door to a room that was right opposite his. Amber's eyes widened in awe as she stepped into the room. Everything was just as she would have chosen herself. Soft, rich purple walls, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves filled with her favorite novels, and posters of BTS, her favorite K-pop group, covered the walls. “Wow!” she breathed, her hand still in Axel's. “How did you…?” Axel smiled, his shoulders raised with pride. “I've had a front-row seat to your growth, kiddo. I know your tastes better than anyone.” Amber's gaze landed on the plush, white bed with a delicate purple duvet, adorned with a few of her favorite stuffed animals. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes. “Axel, this is… amazing,” she whispered, her voice trembling. This was exactly why she couldn’t get over her feelings for him. He always had a way of making her heart flutter with every little or big thing he did. Axel smiled and gently squeezed her hand. “You're like a little sister to me, Amber. I wanted to make sure you felt at home.” For a moment, Amber's heart ached. Little sister? It stung a little, but she brushed off the feeling. He wouldn’t think of her as a little sister for long anyway. She was in College. She would be eighteen in a few days too, so… technically… As she explored the room, Amber noticed the small touches that made it truly hers – her favorite coffee mug on the desk, a framed photo of her and Axel from the last Christmas he spent with them, and even her beloved guitar leaning against the wall. He was the reason she learned how to play the guitar; the muse behind her love for music as well. “You really thought of everything,” Amber said, turning to Axel with a smile. Axel shrugged, looking pleased. “That's what big brothers are for.” He ruffled her hair, and Amber's eyes narrowed. “Hey, I'm not a kid anymore,” she protested, smoothing her hair. Axel chuckled. “To me, you'll always be a kid, Amber. College or not, you'll always be Cole's and my little sister.” Amber rolled her eyes. “Great! Just what I needed. Another person to baby me!” she folded her arms with a huff. Axel grinned. “Someone’s got to keep you in check.” Just then, Cole walked into the room, a scowl on his face. “I was supposed to be the one to show her the room,” he said, shooting Axel a mock-glare. Amber rolled her eyes. “I didn't need your ugly face in my room, Cole.” Cole feigned offense. “Hey, my face isn't ugly!” Amber smirked. “It's definitely not pretty.” Axel laughed. “Well, I think I did a better job anyway.” Cole shook his head. “You're just trying to steal the spotlight, Axel. Don’t act like I didn’t help. You’re just gonna take all the glory? Pfft!” Axel huffed. “Oh really? You were sleeping on the couch all day. The only thing you helped me with was putting the posters on the wall.” Cole rolled his eyes. “At least I did something.” Amber chuckled. “It doesn’t matter who did or who didn’t, what matters is that I love my room so much!” she giggled. “Thanks, Axel,” she said, blinking at him. Cole cleared his throat to draw her attention and she scoffed. “And you too, Cole.” she rolled her eyes. Cole chuckled. “Anytime, baby sis,” he said, but she made a barfing sound, causing them to laugh. Axel and Cole left her to freshen up and get ready for dinner, and she took a seat on her bed, her face filled with smiles and her heart swollen with excitement. “I can’t believe Axel is here!!!” she screamed into her pillow and laid down on her back as she stared at the ceiling. Now all she needed was to get him to notice her… the other way.3. NEXT MORNING… Amber awoke with a smile on her face. This was the first time she actually woke up with a genuine smile since the previous months. She had had trouble having a peaceful sleep after Axel left. She may or may not have fantasized about him doing terrible but pleasurable things to her which always ended up with her touching herself in the process. She was shameless, she knew it, but she felt she shouldn’t be blamed for lusting after her brother’s best friend. I mean look at him… he was drop dead gorgeous; too hot to even breathe the same air as her. She could still recall the day he spent the night at their house, and she had to wake up and find him making some pancakes in the kitchen. He was shirtless and his hair was messy, and it only made him hotter than he already was. She had watched how his muscles flexed as he lifted the frying pan and flipped the pancakes. She blessed her self control because it took all she had not to run into his arms and trail her han
004. Amber's eyes widened, her grip on the fork tightening the more. “Girlfriend?” she repeated, trying to keep her tone neutral. Candice nodded, smiling. “Yeah, we've been together for a few months now.” Amber's gaze shifted to Axel, who looked uncomfortable. “You didn't mention you had a girlfriend,” she said, trying to keep the accusation out of her voice. Axel shrugged. “It didn't come up.” Amber felt a pang of disappointment. Why hadn't he told her? Did he think she wouldn't care? She glared at him, her heart aching. Candice leaned in, oblivious to the tension. “So, Amber, what do you think of the campus so far?” Amber forced a smile, trying to play it cool. “It's great. Thanks for asking.” Candice nodded with a smile. “Since you’re Axel’s little sister, I’ll give you special treatment,” ‘If that special treatment involves you leaving Axel’s life forever, I’m game.’ Amber muttered in her thoughts as Candice kept going on and on about how she would take care of
005.“Spill the tea, girlie. How on earth do you know Axel King? He even shoved you into his car!” Melissa exclaimed, causing Amber to laugh.“He didn’t really shove me into the car, Mel.” Amber massaged her forehead. Melissa had video called her the minute she got home and wouldn’t stop asking about Axel. She couldn’t help wondering how Amber knew who Axel was when she was just a freshman.Melissa rolled her eyes. “Oh please!” she waved it off. “He literally swept you off your feet.” she giggled.Amber chuckled softly. “Well, he is my brother’s best friend, so he is technically my friend too. We’ve known each other since we were kids.”Melissa gasped. “Girl, you’re lucky. Axel King is the most popular guy on campus. Don’t ask me how I know, I’m an all rounder-perks of being a mass communication student, am I right?”“It’s gossip.” Amber laughed.The door to her room opened and Cole walked in. He threw the towel he was holding on Amber’s face and she huffed.“Let’s talk later, Melissa
006.Next day…Amber, Melissa, and Jack were having lunch in the cafeteria and Melissa didn’t waste time before telling Jack about Axel. Jack gasped. “I might just be a freshman but the name “Axel King” is gold on campus. Everybody knows him and girls? Fuck, they are always all over him, especially when he plays basketball.”Melissa giggled. “Not only is he hot and drop dead gorgeous, he is also good at sports and have led this college to numerous victories in his two years of being here,”Amber smiled. “Axel has always been my golden guy. He is awesome.” Melissa narrowed her eyes at her. “Girl, you’re swooning.” she chuckled.Amber sighed.Just then, Axel walked into the cafeteria, and just like they had said, all eyes were on him in an instant, including hers. There was something about him… about his presence, his aura, that seemed to command the room. Melissa watched Amber with a smile on her face. No one needed to explain what was going on to her right now. One thing she knew;
007.Axel stood in the spacious office, his face indifferent and his patience wearing thin. He hated being here, and he especially hated the feeling of nostalgia that came with coming to this place.He walked over to the window, overlooking the whole city, and he sighed, tucking his hands into his pocket as his handsome face contorted to a frown. His father’s office had always been the most uncomfortable place for him to be in, and now he had been here for fifteen minutes, waiting for his so-called father who had called him here but went ahead to do business… as usual.Just as he was about to give up and turned to walk out, the door opened, and his father walked in, his expression stern. “I’m actually surprised you waited.” he took a seat and gestured for Axel to sit as well.“Why did you call me here?” Axel asked as soon as his butt landed on the chair.Mr. Kevin King cleared his throat and folded his hands on the desk as he looked at his son. “It’s about you and Candice,” he answer
008.“Turn around!” Amber screamed and Axel’s body moved of its own accord as he quickly turned, his heart beating fast.Amber shut her eyes tight in embarrassment as she rushed to carry her towel and back into the bathroom to calm herself down before coming out. She had no idea Axel would be back early. “Fuck!” she covered her face with her palms. She could literally feel her cheeks burning with embarrassment. How the heck was she going to face him now. What was she going to say? It was going to be so awkward talking to him after this.She groaned, feeling like the ground should open and swallow her whole. She paced around the bathroom as she thought of what to do. She slowly opened the door and peeked through it. He was still standing with his back turned. She guessed he might be scared to turn and see her again. Her eyes scanned her room before it landed on the tampons and chocolates he had bought. She looked away, stretched out her hand to her shorts on the bed and grabbed them
009.Damn her dirty mind! What in heaven's name was she thinking? She screamed into her pillow, her face heating from the first-hand embarrassment.After she uttered that insane sentence, it became awkward a little bit as Axel didn’t know the response to give her. She had to pretend it was just a harmless joke, blaming him for flirting with her, then quickly finished her food and rushed into her room.“Gosh!” she facepalmed, shaking her head. It was becoming more and more difficult to control herself around him. She might actually snap one day if he doesn’t see the green lights she’s been giving him.Axel was every lady’s guy. He knew how to have his way with girls, and he certainly knew how to keep them coming back for more. He also knew when a lady was into him, so why hadn’t he noticed that she had a thing for him?Was he mistaking her stares and flirting for admiration, or he probably thought she was joking? She tried to get the questions out of her head, but she couldn’t.During
010.Two days later…“Are you sure you want to go through with this, Amy? You still have a chance to change your mind.” Melissa said as she added the finishing touches to Amber’s hair.Amber smiled, her expression determined. “You’ve been asking me this for two days now, and I already told you I want to do it.”Melissa sighed. She understood her best friend’s plight, but she wouldn’t want Axel falling in love with her based on a mere seduction. Deep down, she knew Axel had a thing for Amber; I mean it’s damn obvious from the way he looked at her, and the way his expression softened whenever he listened to her.She wished Amber would let him make a move instead of pushing it down on him. She had been trying to convince Amber since that day at the cafeteria, but the lady was quite stubborn.“What about Cole?” she asked, reaching into Amber’s wardrobe and pulling out the signature red gown they had bought specifically for tonight.Amber smiled. “Let me worry about that. I’m finally eigh
120.Amber blinked. She couldn’t believe Cole would say such a thing to her. How on earth was she selfish? She was doing this for his own good. It was hurting to see her genius brother being fooled by a wolf in sheep’s clothing. But now because she cared, Cole had to raise his voice on her for the first time. It broke her heart so much that her brother didn’t trust her enough to believe her. “We’ve never had a fight before, Cole,” Amber said, her eyes turning glassy as she looked up at her brother. “Are you going to allow your so-called girlfriend come between us? I’m your sister. I would never hurt you or put myself first before you.”“Stop making this about you, Amber,” Cole sighed, feeling conflicted. “When you and Axel got together, I wasn’t against it. Even when you two kept it away from me, I didn’t get mad.”“I and Axel are different!” Amber snapped. “And the reason you approved of the relationship was because you trusted Axel. You knew he was a good person. I don’t trust Jan
119.“Axel, I need your help with talking to Cole,” Amber said as they headed to the parking lot together.Axel stopped in his tracks, turning to face with a confused expression on his face. “Why? What happened?” he asked.Amber stopped walking as well, holding her books to her chest as she looked at Axel. “Because,” she paused, sucking on a long breath. “Janice doesn’t love him. She is lying to him and using him.”Axel blinked. “What?” he asked.Amber nodded, the annoyance she tried so hard to keep in coming back. “Today, Cole asked me to get him food from the cafeteria. On my way to deliver the food to him, I passed by a classroom where I overheard Janice speaking with her friend. She mentioned that once she gets what she wants from Cole, she’d dump him. At first, I thought it was about his grades, but when I confronted, and she was so mean to me, I realized there was something more, but I couldn’t find out what.”Axel stared at Amber for a while. “Are you sure about this?” he asked
118.“Spill what exactly?” Amber asked, folding her arms with a frown on her face.Janice scoffed. “Don’t try to act smart with me, baby girl. I know you overheard me and my friend talking. So tell me, what did you hear?” Amber snickered. “Is your conscience pricking you or are you scared I’m gonna tell my brother what you’re up to? Are you scared I’ll tell him that you are a liar, a deceiver and a bitchy person?” she asked and Janice clenched her fists.Janice watched Amber for a while, but then she realized something. There was no way Cole would believe Amber anyway. She knew how much Cole loved her, and Amber telling him would only make him feel Amber was selfish and unreadable. A smith found its way to her lips as she chuckled. “There’s nothing that’s gonna make Cole believe you anyway,” she said and Amber raised a brow.Janice began pacing the room, a victorious smile plastered on her face. “Need I remind you that you are dating Cole’s best friend,” she said?“So?”“And Cole did
117.Amber huffed and began walking away. “Amber!” Amber stopped in her tracks, her fists clenched. She turned with a frown on her face, annoyance coloring her features as she stared at Janice. Janice’s eyes darted to the bag in Amber’s hand and instantly knew it was the food she had asked Cole to get her. “Hey, are you going to meet Cole?” she asked, beaming at Amber who didn’t return a smile of her own. “Why are you asking? Do you want to use him for something else?” Amber asked, trying to keep the accusation out of her voice, but it wasn’t working.She was literally boiling with rage, and it annoyed her to the core that Janice was acting all innocent in front of her when she just talked down on her brother a few minutes ago. Don’t people have shame these days?Janice raised an eyebrow. “What are you talking about?” she asked, wondering if Amber had overheard her conversation with her friend. She forced a smile and held Amber’s arm. “Don’t be too cocky, Amy. I know you’re mad th

Bianca paced to and forth in the living room as she waited for her father's arrival. She had been waiting to tell him about what Aiden said and also make sure he explained things to her, but he hadn't been around.He had told her he was coming home today and she had been anxiously waiting. She heard the sound of the door and quickly rushed to get it.“Dad, welcome.” she greeted him and he nodded.He walked into the house and took a seat. She took a seat facing him, dabbing her fingers together as she stared at him.“I want to hear good news, Bianca. Were you able to secure the deal with Aiden?” he asked curtly.Bianca's face fell, and she shook her head. “No, Dad. He refused to work with us.” she answered with a frustrated sigh.Mr. Sullivan's expression turned dark. “What did he say?”Bianca took a deep breath before recounting her conversation with Aiden. Mr. Sullivan's face grew angrier with each passing moment.“When I asked him why, he said it was because of your business practic
“Apologize to her now, Mia. I will not repeat myself again!”Aiden's voice was firm and commanding, leaving no room for argument. Mia's eyes flashed with anger, but she knew better than to cross Aiden when he was in this mood. She took a deep breath and turned to Samantha.“I apologize,” she said stiffly, her words dripping with insincerity.“Say it like you mean it, Mia.” Aiden ordered and Mia sighed, lowering her head.“I'm sorry, Samantha. I shouldn't have said all those words. Please forgive me.” she sounded sincere this time around, but her heart meant something entirely different.Samantha looked at her, her expression unreadable. “It's fine,” she said curtly, her voice barely above a whisper.Aiden's eyes narrowed at Mia. “I mean it, Mia. No more of this. Samantha is going to be my wife, and I won't have you disrespecting her like this.”Mia's eyes widened in shock, but she knew better than to push Aiden further. She nodded, her face pale.“I understand,” she said, her voice ba
112."Now, let's go make a dramatic entrance." he smirked and she smiled as they walked into the hall together.The hall was filled with influential men and women, who came to witness the handover ceremony of the Sullivan Group. Bianca sat in the midst of her friends as they chatted and giggled happily while congratulating her for becoming the first CEO among them.Nathan was seated by her side, her arms locked with his as she gisted with her friends about how shocked she was when her father sent out the invitations."You needed to see the look on my face, babes." she said, flaunting her perfectly manicured nails in their faces."Girl, you rock. Your father must have seen your potential. We all know how much of a boss lady you are." Brenda, one of her friends, spoke up."I know, right? She is beautiful, talented and all round capable! Not to think she also has a very handsome boyfriend." Ava, her second friend complimented her as she looked at her dreamily."Oh, stop it, girls. You fl
