The Shadow

Six months ago is when it started. It was purely an accident the first time but once he started he couldn’t stop. He had been walking home after being fired from his latest job for showing up drunk. He stumbled down the road and passed a house with the curtains opened. He saw a beautiful girl sitting in the floor playing with two young children and he was shocked. He had never seen a prettier girl in his life and was instantly smitten. In his drunken state he didn’t stop to consider that he was a stranger and would scare the young lady. All he could think about was meeting and maybe kissing her. So he staggered up to the window and watched her closely. The young blond stood up and he could hear her as she told the kids it was bedtime and he watched her usher them upstairs. He was not a patient man and after several drinks he couldn’t wait any longer. He tried the door and was surprised that it opened quietly. He couldn’t believe his luck as he creeped into the house and waited to meet

No Clue

The Huntersville Police arrived at the house and began the search for clues to Mandy’s death. It was determined she had a broken neck but nothing else in the house had been disturbed. The officers searched the house, dusted for finger prints and asked the boys parents to look for any missing items. Nothing was missing and as the parents answered questions it became clear they didn’t have any answers as to who could do this. The police asked about Mandy’s boyfriend. The parents gave them his name but quickly exclaimed that he was a good boy and wouldnt do such a thing. The officer assured them it was routine and they had to cover all their bases. The officers finished their questions and left after Mandy’s body had been taken away by the coroner. This was the hardest part of the job. They had to contact Mandy’s parents and break the news that their daughter would not be coming home. Mandy’s parents were watching television when the doorbell rang. Mandy’s mother Jean looked at her h

Sasha’s next

One month after Mandy’s death, Sasha Williams was leaving school one cold Friday afternoon. It was early November and Sasha had to rush home and change clothes before going to her babysitting job at The Ramsey house. She was watching little Cleo Ramsey while her mother and father went to a party. Sasha had promised Mrs. Ramsey she would be there by 5:30 and she didn’t want to be late. Sasha drove quickly to her home a few blocks from school and ran inside to change. When she was done she left a note for her mom letting her know where she would be and not to wait up. Sasha stuck the note on the fridge and grabbed an apple before heading out the door. Sasha wanted to swing by the gym and see her boyfriend before going to the Ramseys. Sasha’s boyfriend Cole Little was a part time personal trainer at the gym. Sasha walked into the gym and snuck up behind Cole who was in between clients and wrapped her arms around his eyes and giggled guess who. Of course Cole knew it was Sasha but he

Cole didn’t do it.

Cole was running late to see Saha at the Ramsey house and was driving fast to get there. He had phoned Sasha to let her know he was on his way but she didn’t pick up. That wasn’t unusual though when she was babysitting as she could be busy with Cleo or cleaning up. Cole finally arrived about 20 minutes late and approached the door. He didn’t want to wake Cleo up by ringing the doorbell so instead he reached up above the door and took the spare key that was hidden and let himself in. He has done this many times in the past so it wasn’t a big deal he thought. He never expected to walk himself into trouble. Cole walked into the living room but didn’t see Sasha anywhere. He softly called her name and tiptoed to Cleo’s room to see if Sasha was there. Cole saw Cleo fast asleep and turned around to head back and look for Sasha. It wasn’t like her not to have greeted him already. Cole was starting to worry when he saw the light on in the kitchen. Sasha must be in there and didn’t hear me h

You’re Hired

Stacy woke up late on Saturday since it wasn’t a school day and went down stairs in time for lunch. Sylvia had made chicken salad and homemade croissants. Stacy’s stomach rumbled with hunger as she piled her plate full and happily ate her lunch. Marc asked Stacy if she had any plans and Stacy filled him in on visiting the families her friend Kim had told her about. Sylvia looked at her daughter worriedly, Stacy I don’t know if babysitting is such a good idea. You heard what happened over in Huntersville. Stacy shrugged indifferently, Mom come on do you really believe all that happened? Sylvia nodded with a serious look on her face. Marc spoke up and told Sylvia not to worry Morgansville was safe and Stacy would be fine. Stacy looked at her dad gratefully, Mom I will be fine. Nothing is gonna happen while I’m babysitting. Besides I may not even get the job so you could be worrying for nothing. Sylvia forced a smile but her gut was telling her not to let Stacy babysit. Stacy finish
