Chapter 5: A Little Friendly

"Is the air conditioner in your office broken? Do I need to call the maintenance department?" Felicia said when she saw Lionel's uncomfortable condition.

Lionel's expression was so ugly, visible to the naked eye that Felicia immediately shut up and sat on the sofa, minimizing her presence.

'If I talk too much, I'm afraid the boss will get angry.' she whispered.

As Lionel watched Felicia's movements, Lionel felt frustration in his chest, was he so scary?

Lionel remembered that when he chatted with Melki last night, the other party mentioned that Felicia's relationship with her family wasn't very good and thought of that ugly apartment where Omega lived.

Even if Felicia didn't like being in contractual contact with him, living in such a place was still too dangerous, 'She should move out of there.' Lionel thought.

There would be long-term cooperation in the future between himself and Felicia, so everyone should feel comfortable.

Lionel immediately finished half of his iced coffee to neutralize his emotional state. He then adjusted his expression in his eyes and spoke in a slightly friendly manner to Omega: "Felicia, let's talk."

Felicia did not respond immediately, she remained silent for a few minutes, then boldly walked over to the seated boss.

"We've been pretending to be a couple for two or three days. Do you have anything you want to say to me? "Lionel decided to try his best to change what Felicia thought of him.

'This Omega must not be afraid of me.' Lionel thought.

Felicia lowered her head and looked at the watch on her arm. Lionel said as if he should be very dissatisfied with her. Last night, she had thought about telling the Alpha the truth, but Felicia, who was already mentally prepared, regretted it. She was in desperate need of money. With her workability and physical fitness, she might not be able to achieve her goal even if she could.

Now that this was the case, it was better to work harder. Felicia gathered courage and sat down to explain yesterday afternoon's misunderstanding.

"I felt dizzy and fell on your thigh because of a cold. I'm sorry."

"You've also seen my physical examination report." There was a sighing sound before Felicia continued, "I'm not in good health. There is also an Alpha brother and an Omega sister in my family. I am not normal. I've caused a lot of trouble for my parents since I was a child."

"If you give me another chance, I will cooperate wholeheartedly in pretending to be a lover."

"And I can't enter the heat period. Your pheromones will not affect me. If you find another Omega, it won't be easy to cooperate. You can consider our contract again."

Lionel had not expected that things would develop like this. Felicia, who rarely looked directly at him, had fear hidden in her eyes but still tried to look at him. Lionel could see sincerity in those slightly lighter eyes.

Lionel could be sure that Felicia, with such eyes, was not the kind of person he thought she was.

Felicia bowed her head again after saying such a long sentence. She didn't wait for Lionel's reply. The light in her eyes gradually disappeared. She sighed helplessly. She was about to apologize when she suddenly smelled a faint citrus scent.

This scent was not the same as Lionel's body odor; it was very natural and fresh, like a real orange. As if realizing it, Felicia slowly raised her head, only to see an orange being passed towards her.

"Do you like oranges?"

Felicia nodded. She had loved eating oranges since she was a little girl.

"Then eat more." Lionel produced a fresh orange out of nowhere and placed it in front of Felicia like a magic trick.

"I'm very satisfied with you. I hope we can work together happily in the future." After Lionel finished speaking, he stood up and extended a hand to Felicia with a faint smile.

Felicia was stunned, moving hurriedly after a moment and taking the hand. Lionel's hand was warm, and their grip separated only after a light squeeze, but Felicia's hand still felt that warmth.

"Before lunch, eat this orange."

"Okay." Felicia sat back on the sofa, holding two oranges. As she peeled off the peel and carefully looked at Lionel, the other party's forehead was sweaty, and his iced coffee was already gone,

'Maybe it's because he's feeling hot.' Felicia thought. The Alpha even moved his collar to let the wind out.

At this moment, Felicia suddenly understood that even if the air conditioner broke down and gave the Alpha a hot feeling, the maintenance department would fix it immediately. They couldn't possibly dare to delay to make the Boss comfortable.

'So the boss did deliberately not switch on the air conditioner. Is it because of me?' Felicia wondered.

But why?

It took only a short time for lunch to arrive. It was still the familiar lunch box. After Felicia opened it, she found today's dish was light, completely different from the previous two days.

Thinking that there was no spicy food in the morning, Felicia came up with a bold idea: 'The boss knows I'm sick and doesn't want to make me uncomfortable. I'm afraid my flu will get worse.'

Felicia pretended to pour water and glanced at Lionel's lunchbox. They usually ate the same menu, but today's menu was different.

Now Felicia had confirmed her guess even more.

The boss was also quite good.

Felicia ate an orange after the meal, and peeled the rest and gave it to Lionel.

"President Walton, I'm going out." When Lionel accepted the orange, Felicia's mouth smiled and turned to leave.

"Felicia, try calling me by name in the future."

Felicia paused, and digesting the Boss's meaning was a little difficult.

After understanding, Felicia somehow thought of Mrs Emmely's nickname, 'Handsome Boy. ' But she did not have the courage to call her boss by that name.

As she thought about this, Felicia almost laughed but held back. She didn't respond to the boss's words and left the office quickly.

In Lionel's eyes, who didn't know anything about romance, he thought the little Omega had run away out of embarrassment.
