Chapter 4: A Bowl of Porridge

"Hmm." This hiss disturbed Lionel's concentration slightly, but the Omega didn't notice.

After Felicia felt her dizziness subside, she held the lunch box tightly, but she only realized that Lionel was holding her body. And both of their hearts were beating fast as if they were about to stop,

"Sorry," Felicia said softly.

"Get out." Lionel's tone was fierce, and his eyes looked at the back of Felicia's head strangely. Lionel didn't think he would bite that gland even if he were born again.

After listening to the Alpha's annoying remarks, Felicia immediately stood up by holding the desk and ran out of the office before she could even put her lunch box on her desk. When someone stood outside the office, a sense of grievance arose.

Felicia had been wronged many times by Lionel's sharp mouth, but she didn't care. The Alpha's words at this time made Felicia feel the peak of annoyance. She tried to digest her emotions, then tidied up the lunch box.

'I want to see an annoying Alpha like you become a love slave!' Felicia was annoyed inwardly.

During afternoon office hours, Lionel took Assistant Alva out, and Felicia watched from the corner of her eye.

'I'm sick of that Alpha!' Felicia thought to herself.

Lionel didn't return until after work. Felicia declined her beta co-worker's invitation to dinner. She left the Walton Group alone with the bag on her back. She walked through the alley on the company's back street and into the Moonlight coffee shop.

People could smell the coffee before they even entered. Felicia pushed open the door and walked in. A waitress greeted Felicia with a smile.

"Table number 17, as usual?" the beta waitress asked happily.

Felicia nodded and walked to the table by the window, where she often sat.

"Mr Melki just left, as he had something to do. He said that if Miss Felicia comes, please try our new cake." The waitress.

"Say thank you to Boss." Felicia pulled a smile from the corner of her mouth and became happy again when the waitress left.

Like most Omegas, Felicia liked to eat something sweet, and it was also divided into levels so that she could eat dessert without getting full. Always frugal, Felicia would only treat herself to sweets.

In the first month of working at the Walton Group, Felicia insisted on moving out of the house after receiving her salary and fought with her parents. When she was unhappy, she walked into this coffee shop and happened to be chasing a discount. After eating all the chocolate cakes that were a special challenge of this coffee shop to attract customers, she received a small cake every day for one month. Therefore, she also met the owner of the coffee shop, who was a Beta but more handsome than most Alphas.

After coming here more often, Felicia gradually got acquainted with the boss and became friends.

The waitresses in the shop all knew Felicia, and they quickly ordered for her. Soon, some delicious desserts were placed in front of Felicia.

The chocolate mousse was dense and creamy. One bite instantly erased all of Felicia's negative emotions. After the chocolate mousse, Felicia could play her mobile phone happily.

Someone in her college group asked if they wanted to reunite, and many people were happy. Gradually, the topic became strange, and Felicia couldn't answer the words. Felicia was too engrossed in her activities to notice it was already dark outside.

There was a small chandelier above each table, and the chandelier's lighting was like adding a filter to the dessert.

"How does the new product taste?" A warm voice sounded, and a glass of orange juice appeared before Felicia. The hand holding the glass was white and muscular. On that arm was an expensive watch, which further embellished the atmosphere.

Felicia looked up and saw a familiar, handsome face.

"Boss Melki." Felicia recalled the new product's flavor and praised it with satisfaction: "The perfect combination of pineapple and peach!" Felicia gave two thumbs up: "The flavor is very fresh. Although it's not too sweet, I also really like it."

"If you like, someone will pack one for you." Melki smiled as he said this.

The two hadn't seen each other for a few days, and they chatted for half an hour about the latest situation.

Lionel's car got stuck near the company on his way home, and he glanced over casually and saw Felicia sitting in the coffee shop.

The Omega's appearance looked different like she was shy by giving a little flirtation. At this moment, Felicia's eyes were bent into a beautiful arch. The soft light shone on the Omega's face with a warm glow, making Lionel feel strange in his chest.

Lionel watched Felicia for a few minutes and saw Melki sitting opposite Felicia until the car was on the road again.

Even now Lionel already thought that Felicia had good acting skills in front of others. If it hadn't been for that Omega, who was completely unaffected by the pheromones of a high-class Alpha like him and whose mother was very fond of Felicia, the agreement to become pretend Lionel would have revoked lovers at this very moment.

But now Lionel had other ideas.

After talking to Boss Melki, Felicia returned to the apartment with a packet of desserts. After eating a lot of dessert, Felicia was in a good mood. While going to bed, Felicia opened a group containing marketing department employees who were making a scene by gossiping about managers in other departments, but Felicia chose not to care.

Felicia's good mood lasted until she went to work the next day. When she thought about seeing Lionel, Felicia felt uneasy. She sat at her desk and prayed that Lionel would not come this morning.

Too bad Felicia's prayers didn't work, and Lionel came to work on time at the company. Listening to other employees greeting the boss, Felicia clenched her fingers and listened carefully to Lionel's footsteps.

'One step, two steps, three steps...' Felicia thought.

Lionel loved the smell of oranges. Even the shampoo and detergent in his house had that scent. When Felicia caught the scent of citrus floating in the air, she was about to open her mouth but looked at the lunchbox thrust at her.

"Eat this porridge."

Lionel had already entered the office without waiting for Felicia to say anything.

'Huh? Not angry anymore?' Felicia thought.

Felicia sighed in relief, and when she looked up, everyone looked at her in surprise. When she observed them, they looked away.

And the silence there made the others go back to work.

The lunchbox contained porridge with chicken and egg pieces, and it even included some of her favorites, like pickles.

When Felicia ate at the Walton home, many of her favorite dishes appeared, and she realized, 'They're not spicy. Do they know what I like?'

Lionel was away from his desk like everyone thought. He was standing before the glass window and opening the curtains with one hand. From his direction, he could see Felicia's working position.

After seeing that the Omega was eating porridge seriously, Lionel retracted his hand and sat back in his boss's chair.

When Lionel got home last night, he called his friend, Melki Black, and discovered something about Felicia.

Melki assured him that Felicia was not the kind of Omega who liked to seduce men as Lionel thought.

They have been friends for years. Lionel believes in Melki's vision of being friends and learns from Melki about the other side of the weak Felicia. After a night's thought, Lionel knew that he had misunderstood.

He hoped the little Omega could taste his apology from a bowl of porridge.

Felicia was promoted to Lionel's Assistant and became the only Omega on the 22nd floor. All the Walton Group employees had been gossiping about the couple's relationship. As soon as Lionel gave her the porridge this morning, it spread throughout the company within an hour.

Felicia has only known colleagues in the marketing department for two years. Everyone knew that Felicia was not close to Lionel and had not been involved in any gossip during that time, so Felicia had no idea that she had become the center of the company's topic now.

During her lunch break, Felicia glanced at the office and waited for five minutes without movement. She thought there would be no lunch box today, so she took the meal card and prepared to go to the cafeteria.

Felicia's mobile phone vibrated as soon as she approached the lift door.

[Big boss: Enter my office]

Seeing the message, Felicia immediately replied with one sentence, [Okay]

As soon as she entered Lionel's office, Felicia noticed that the air conditioning was not switched on today.

Felicia was fine not turning on the air conditioning, but Alpha's body temperature was always high. Today, it was over 20 degrees.

'Won't the Boss feel the heat?' Felicia thought.

Lionel naturally felt the heat. He took off his suit and opened two buttons. Although the window was open for ventilation, it couldn't alleviate the heat.

He had a cup of iced coffee on his desk to provide a chill.

"There was a delay in the delivery, and lunch should be here soon." Lionel took the initiative to speak and looked at Felicia, who was wearing a coat and couldn't help but drink his coffee.

'Felicia should be able to feel my sincerity, right?'
