Chapter 2. Gifts

After breakfast, Felicia felt like her brain was empty. She chose not to continue sleeping in Lionel's room. Mrs. Emily, who heard that, was disappointed and chose to take Felicia to Lionel's car. She then told her son to take her lover home.

Felicia chose to smile forcefully at that. After hanging out with her boss for one day, she learned to change her facial expression in five seconds.

She stared blankly at the scenery outside the car window, not realizing that this was the way back to the company, until a familiar coffee shop appeared in her eyes.

It turned out that today was a work day. Felicia blinked her sore eyes, which were from lack of rest, and sighed silently, 'It's really hard for me just to rest.'

Soon, the car stopped at the company's door. Felicia got out of the car but found that Lionel hadn't gotten off. After thinking about what to do, Felicia walked around the driver's seat and opened the door immediately.

The expression changed in Lionel's eyes, and the Alpha almost showed a flat face mixed with annoyance on his face. Felicia, who saw that, took a step back subconsciously, wondering inwardly, 'Did I upset the boss already?

"Going to work?" Lionel stared at the Omega in front of him for a few moments.

Lionel's tone was cold, and Felicia didn't even realize it was a question, so she nodded vigorously.

"Working."

Lionel frowned, but she insisted on going to work even though she was sleepy. Lionel went to the company just to pick up some documents before driving the Omega home.

Did the Omega want to attract his attention?

When Felicia saw Lionel's face getting ugly, she pretended to move her body and entered the company first.

Looking at the Omega, who couldn't wait to go to work, Lionel's eyes narrowed slightly, and the darkness was still evident in his eyes. He returned to the car and drove to the VIP parking lot.

When Lionel appeared in the office, he glanced at Felicia's desk, and no one was there.

"What about the others?" said the Alpha.

Abner's assistant, who was behind Lionel, reported the itinerary, paused, and then said, "Didn't the boss say to give Felicia leave?"

"She doesn't need that."

Lionel averted his eyes and continued to walk forward. Assistant Abner nodded, took notes, and then reported the previous words.

Felicia subconsciously went to the marketing department where she had worked before. The marketing department had a job that wasn't necessarily difficult as long as they managed to sell the specified target. All employees are Omega. Everyone had a good relationship. When Felicia showed up, they all welcomed her.

"Felicia! Is there a photo of the boss that you managed to get? Let's take a look at it."

"Boss is very sensitive. If he finds out that Felicia secretly took a picture of him, he'll definitely get angry."

"I'm kidding, but the boss is getting more and more stunning every day. I even voted for the boss on this year's Hottest Alpha list."

Several people joked that Felicia had stopped walking towards her desk and that she remembered that she was now Lionel's assistant. Her office should be on the 32nd floor, not here!

Felicia rushed to the elevator without waiting for her colleague to finish speaking.

Finally reaching the 32nd floor, Felicia sat at her new desk before breathing correctly. She heard Assistant Abner say that she was late today in a cold tone.

Felicia opened her mouth to deny it but did not. She couldn't say she was late because she was eating at the big boss's house.

So, has her absence allowance been used up this month?

Felicia felt like she was being mistreated, but she could only work again without protesting.

Due to a top Alpha like Lionel, this floor was filled with ordinary alphas and a small number of beta employees. Although Felicia could not smell the pheromones and was not affected, Lionel still gave her an omega-only room.

This room was quiet. During the lunch break, one of the Alpha employees, whom Felicia didn't know yet, greeted her and went to take the Omega to the cafeteria together. The food in the Gold Group cafeteria was delicious. Every employee, especially the Omega, was subsidized every month, so Felicia's expenses were well controlled.

Felicia intended to ask her colleagues in the marketing department if they wanted to go to the cafeteria for dinner after work. As soon as she turned on her cell phone, she saw a message from Lionel.

[Big boss: Come to my office now]

The message was sent a minute ago during the lunch break, and Felicia hurried there.

Felicia cautiously knocked on the door and entered Lionel's office.

"Close the curtains." The Alpha said.

The office was transparent so that Lionel could see the employees from outside. Felicia obediently pulled the curtains, and when she saw Lionel, she found two lunch boxes on the desk. One was pink, and the other was blue.

"Eat."

Lionel spoke briefly. He bowed his head and looked at the documents during the whole process. There was no eye contact with Felicia.

If Felicia hadn't been curious, he wouldn't have spoken, let the Omega eat and sat in front of the pink lunch box.

The food in the lunch box was still steaming, and the colour and aroma were delicious. The white rice was mixed with sesame seeds, and Felicia squealed when she smelled the food.

'My favorite Korean cuisine!' the Omega thought happily.

"This is all yours." Lionel heard the scream in the quiet office.

Felicia looked up in embarrassment and peeked. Lionel was probably dissatisfied with the document. He frowned slightly and took off his tie while re-reading.

His sexy neckline was revealed. Felicia could only say inwardly, 'High-end alpha power is indeed worth seeing.'

Lionel's appearance was genuinely handsome as long as she didn't speak. Felicia didn't notice Lionel lowering the temperature of the air conditioner.

Felicia, who was sitting under the air conditioner, suddenly sneezed.

She had been weak and afraid of the cold since childhood. No matter how sultry it was in summer, she wore long sleeves. Lionel was caught up in his thoughts and overlooked Felicia. Felicia didn't dare to speak and continued her meal quickly.

"Boss, I've finished eating, and I'm going to go to work first."

When Lionel heard Felicia speak to him, her clear voice sounded like the ordinary Omega seducing him, and his eyes flashed instantly.

"The relationship between us is just a contract. Nothing more than that." Lioner said flatly.

"Boss, I know." When Felicia didn't know where she had provoked Lionel, she looked at Lionel for a while with the tail of her eyes, then the man's face changed and quickly fled the office.

Sitting at her desk, Felicia still thought, 'Did I eat too noisily for the boss to be bothered? But he told me to eat in his office.'

'So it's not my fault.'

Felicia had already felt the symptoms of nasal congestion in Lionel's office. She immediately took the medicine in her backpack daily, and she felt much better.

In the afternoon, Felicia finished work ahead of schedule. She walked into the marketing department and found that Alex was there.

Alex and Felicia were classmates in college; he was a college star, and she was a regular Omega.

When she applied for a job at the Gold Group, Alex was the one who interviewed her. Because of his kindness, Felicia was accepted.

At first, these two people didn't know each other. However, Alex helped Felicia several times when she was bullied on campus, and she didn't even know why the Alpha was always there for her.

Alex hadn't come to the company for three days and only now learned of the promotion news, so he told the marketing department group and Felicia to treat him. Everyone knew that Felicia was very frugal with her spending. So the others kept quiet, but Alex wasn't like that.

Felicia wasn't stingy and had to save up for her needs in New York. She had initially planned to treat her friends, but it was delayed because she had to go home with Lionel to meet the Alpha's parents. Therefore, Felicia generously treated them today.

When Felicia showed up, Alex immediately recommended a newly opened Japanese restaurant near their office. The others immediately agreed, knowing the food was not too expensive but tasty.

Felicia just remembered that her bag was still on the 32nd floor. She walked there and cleared her desk.

"Not home yet?"

When Felicia wanted to walk towards the elevator, Lionel's voice suddenly sounded from behind. Subconsciously, Felicia took a breath, slowly turned around, and smiled politely.

"I saw you were about to leave." Lionel added.

Before Felicia could reply, Lionel was already walking towards the elevator, and the Omega made a slight dash to get in.

When Felicia glanced at Lionel in the elevator, she didn't know how to speak. Seeing the floor number getting smaller, Felicia took a deep breath and closed her eyes to say something.

"Boss, I made an appointment with a colleague for dinner."

Lionel was taller than the average Alpha. From the man's vantage point, he could see Felicia's head.

"There's a gift from Mama in the trunk of the car."

"Huh?" Felicia rounded her eyes.

Before Felicia could respond, they had reached the VIP parking lot, and Lionel was pulling her towards the car.

At this point, Felicia only glanced at the paper bag. What was inside was unclear, but the brands were all very expensive. Didn't she expect Lionel to actually give it to her?

"I've received the money boss, I can't take that." Felicia said fearfully.

"Okay. Then throw it away," the Alpha casually replied. Lionel's remarks, like those of other rich people, caused Felicia, who had never had much money, to feel a sense of immunity.

The Omega in front of Lionel was not beautiful, but her skin was smooth and white, let alone her clear eyes. Seeing Felicia frown slightly, Lionel's eyes were full of sad and regretful emotions, but his mood was a little happy, so he took the initiative to find another solution.

"Mama wants to give you the best thing. Do you really not want that item?"

Felicia shook her head hastily, fearing that Lionel would throw away all the items.

There were too many gifts that she couldn't carry alone.

"I'll Send you home first, and then we can go to dinner." Seeing that Felicia hadn't spoken for a long time, Lionel decided for her.

Felicia nodded, and that was the only way to go.

The house Felicia rented was in an old apartment complex on the outskirts of New York. There was no elevator in the old six-story building. Felicia didn't expect Lionel to lift things upstairs for her.

She was flattered and followed Lionel tremblingly, fearing that the small staircase would rub Lionel's clothes against dirty things.

Currently, the number of Omegas is decreasing. Each Omega received particular focus from the government. When Lionel stepped into Felicia's house and found that there was only a pair of slippers at the entrance, he couldn't help asking, "Do you live alone?"

Felicia nodded. The room was not large, but it was enough to live alone. Lionel, who was tall, stood at the door, and the room was immediately cramped.

As if being persecuted by the boss, Felicia awkwardly touched the hair in her ear.

At this moment, Felicia's cell phone rang.

It was a call from Sister Amanda, one of her coworkers in the marketing department. It seemed like the woman wanted to tell Felicia to come over. The Omega immediately answered the call.

"Where are you, Felicia?"

"You know, there's a handsome beta manager from the logistics department. Come quickly, I'll introduce you to him." Sister Amanda said excitedly.

She added, "Be careful of being robbed by others if you're late!"

Sister Amanda's voice was not loud, but Felicia and Lionel were in the same room. Moreover, the upper-class Alpha's hearing was very sharp.

Felicia thought that they were pretending to be lovers. The boss wouldn't care about this kind of thing, right?

In the next second, an undeniable voice rang out.

"Don't go."
