CHAPTER TWO

Alpha Joseph's POV

When me and my beta came home from my search of my mate, I felt really disappointed. I thought I'm gonna meet her somewhere, but unfortunately I didn't.   

"Good afternoon, Alpha." Pack members greeted me as I walk out of the pack house. I'm going to my beta's house, I need to tell him something. 

I hop in my car and drive to Jacob's house. I knocked on the door and when Anne open it, the most intoxicating smell hit me like a super wind, it smells like chocolate and honey. Yum! 

"Hi, Alpha. What can I do for you?" Anne asked me but I can't focus, I'm so high from the smell.

"Uh.. well- w-where is Jacob?" I asked trying to calm myself. Who's smell is that? Ugh! My wolf is getting uneasy. He keeps shouting at me. 

Mate! Mate! Mate!  My wolf Recon shouted at me. 

"Stop shouting!" I said to him but he is still shouting. Ugh! Annoying wolf! 

"Alpha? Are you okay? Btw, Jacob pick up Jack from school. I'll tell him you came by, okay? You should rest, you need it." Anne said and smile up at me. 

"O-okay." I said and bid her goodbye then hop in my car again. Fuck! Where the hell that smell came from? But I am really sure that its from Jacob's house. 

I parked my car in front of my house. And hopped out of my car then enter my house. My wolf is getting really annoying. 

"Stop whining!" I snapped to him. 

"I want my mate! I want him!" He shouts back at me. 

"Damn it!  We will get our mate soon! We smelled him, right? So just shut up right now and relax!" I scolded him. He shuts up finally and just rest for awhile. 

I enter my bedroom still thinking about where that smell came from because I'm sure that it came from Jacob's house. Sighing, I just close my eyes and take a nap. 

I woke up with the soft knock on my door and shouted "Come in". Jacob opens the door and enters my room. I sniff and smell the wonderful scent again. 

Mate!! My wolf shouted again but I compose myself and try to calm down. 

"What are you doing here? Do you need anything?" I asked my beta with curiosity in my voice. 

"Well, Anne told me you came by and is worried about your wellbeing. Just want to check on you" He answered with concern in his voice. 

"I'm alright, Jacob. I'm just a little confused, when I visit your house I smell this wonderful scent and Recon is shouting mate!" I looked at him confused and lost. 

"Why would your wolf shout mate? My wife is the only person in there." He said getting annoyed. 

"No! Don't misunderstand. I-I mean the smell is faint but I'm sure it's from your house." I said while scratching the back of my head. Jacob sigh and looked at me seriously. 

"Let's go to my house then. Let's figure out this scent." He concluded and I agree. 

We hop inside his car and drove to his house. As we enter his house the wonderful scent hit me so hard that I gasped audibly. Jacob looked at me confused with his brows raised. 

"I can smell it again! It's so strong!" I follow the smell and it's get stronger at I ascended the stairs. I saw Anne at the corner of my eye looking at me weirdly but I don't care. 

I stopped at the door where the smell emitting so hard. I opend the door faster that I want to and the little boy get startled at how fast it is opened. Without second thought I scooped the little boy in my arms and nuzzle my head in neck sniffing his wonderful smell.

"Uh.. mister? Stop, please~ it tickles" my mate giggles and it's like music to my ears. I stopped and looked at him and take in his features. 

When my mate realized that it's me the alpha, he bows his head and a growl slips through my lips. He doesn't need to bow! I am his mate! He is my equal. As soon as I realize what I've done, my little mate is looking at me scared. The next thing I heard is his sniffles. Damn! My heart is aching! 

"Baby, please don't cry. I didn't mean to growl. I'm sorry~" I said soothingly and tilt his head up to look at me. I stare at his eyes with love and care that I'm feeling right now. That's when I heard the growl from Jacob. 

"Alpha Joseph, what are you doing?" He asked while growling at me. I growl back but felt my mate shake in fear and stopped. 

"He is my mate." I said and everyone looked so shocked, as well as my beautiful mate. 

"No! He is so young! He is 6 years old for fuck's sake!" He yelled and glare at me. That's when my mate starts to cry, he looked so scared and confused.

"Sshh~ please stop crying now, my little mate." I cooed at him and rubs his back to comfort my scared mate. Jacob still glaring at me as my little mate snuggle on my chest. 

"Jacob, stop yelling. You're scaring my mate." I said calmly while still soothing my mates back. 

"Alpha, that is my son. You can't just barge in and take him" it's Anne who said those words and I stared at her. I can understand what she's feeling right now but I need to meet my mate! 

"I will not take him away. I just want to meet him. I will not do something to hurt him." I assured her and looked her straight in the eye. 

"I know you won't hurt him. But he is just a child." Jacob said and I understand them. They are worried about my mate. That's what parents instincts are. My little mate snuggle closer to me and I felt delighted and sighed. 

"Don't worry Jacob, Anne, I will protect him. He will still live here with you." I once again assure Jacob and Anne. I felt my mate looking at me, so I looked back at him. 

"Why, my little mate?" i asked and just stare at him as he compose his answer. 

"Uh... I-I" my mate sttuter and I just looked at him and wait for what he's gonna say. 

"Hey, Jack why?" I asked when I feel sadness flowing out of him. 

"I want to get down, Alpha" He said and I felt pain but didn't show it to him. Did I do something wrong? He looks upset. Did I say something wrong? But to my shock and his parents he ushered us out of his room and I'm just plain confused and hurt. 

As me, Jacob and Anne leave Jack's room, I looked at them with pain in my eyes. 

"He is just shocked and confused. He is just a child Alpha. Please understand him." Anne explained and I just nod my head. 

"I'll just go home for now. I'll visit again next time." I smile sadly at them and walk out of their house and shifted then run my way to my house.
