CHAPTER FOUR

Alpha Joseph's POV

As I watch my mate go to the kitchen, a sad smile made its way to my lips. I looked at jacob. 

"Hey, can we talk?" I asked him and walk towards the sofa and let myself fall on it with a heavy sigh. 

"What? Why? Is there a probem?" He asked me and sit on the single sofa across from mine. 

"I need to get away. I just... I'm afraid that.. I'll get out of control. I don't want to hurt my mate, your son" I said while looking at him with sad smile and teary eyes. 

"I know that you won't hurt my son but if you leave then it will hurt him as well" He said whie looking at me getting frustrated. 

"My father also told me that I have Alpha meetings and business to attend to. Training as well." I said and run my fingers through my hair. I'm getting frustrated at this point. 

I don't want to leave my mate but I can't risk it as well. Recon, my wolf might lose control even though we don't mean to. I looked up and close my eyes as a deep and heavy sigh escaped from my lips. 

"Are you gonna be okay? You'll get weak if you're too far away from him." Jacob said while looking at my vulnerable state. 

"Yeah, I think I'm gonna be okay. Just take care of my mate. I really hope he'll wait for me." I said still eyes closed and rest my head on the back rest of the sofa. 

"He might get bored though. You know when he became a teen? How long will you be gone?" I groaned when he said that. Fck it! 

"Maybe 10 years? I'll be back when he turns 16. That's the time he'll shift" I said. 

"That long? How the fck will you survive that long? And when is this gonna happen?" I sigh again. Will I survive without my mate? 

"I will survive, next week I guess" I chuckle "Just.. Let him know that I will come. He might forget about me." I continue and smile sadly. 

This is so hard. I'm missing him already. I moved my arm to cover my eyes as I released a deep sigh. I then felt someone climbing my lap and sat on it. 

"Are you sad? Did dad scolded you again?" I heard the soft voice of my little mate, I can also see him peeking below my arm. He is such a cutie. 

"He did not. I'm just tired." I removed my arm from my eyes and pinch his cute chubby cheeks while smiling at him. 

"Uh... Do you want kisses and hugs? Mommy and daddy loves it when they're tired." He offers and I just can't help but to nod and smile. 

He leans forward and kiss my cheeks hard with cute sound and hugs my neck. I wrap my arms around his little body. I'm gonna miss him and his sweet gestures. It's gonna be hard. 

"Hey baby?" He just hum while his head is still buried on my neck. 

"Will you miss me if I go away?" He looked at me quickly. 

"You going away? Why? Because I'm little?" He asked with a pout and that makes me sad. 

"It's not like that baby. You know I'm the alpha right? Alphas like me have a lot of work and need to train to protect the pack" I said slowly for him to understand better. 

"B-but..." His eyes start to get teary and I panicked! My heart starts to hurt while looking at him. 

"Hey, baby please. No.. don't cry please" I begged as I wipe his cheek. A tear left his eyes and Recon start to howl in my head. We're hurting because our little mate is crying. 

"Why.. do you need to leave me?" He sobbed and damn! My heart is wreaking! 

"I'll be back though, I might take long but I'll come back for you. You're my mate and I wil always comeback to you" I said assuring him and wiping his continuous tears. 

"H-How long? How many sleeps?" He asked while still sniffling. 

"Uhm... It might take many many sleeps." I don't know how to tell him that I'll be gone for 10 fcking years?!?!? Damn it!!! 

As if on cue Jacob appears and call us for dinner. We talked about usual pack things and also my departure next week. I glance at my baby and he is eating his chicken happily. I chuckle and wipe his chin for him. 

"My baby is a messy eater, huh?" I chuckle and he pout. So cute, I'm gonna miss him. 

After dinner Anne and Jacob asked me to go with my mate in his room to prepare for bed. I oblige. I carry my mate and he just rest his head on my shoulder. 

"Hmmm, how can I call you? Should I just call you by your name or alpha?" He said cutely! Damn his effects on me big time! 

"You can call me anything you want. Just as long as you're comfortable with it" I kissed his forehead and enter his room and sat on his cute little bed him on my lap. 

"Uhh... What's your full name?" He asks and I looked at him puzzled. 

"Joseph Anthony" I answered and I stare at him, he looks like in a deep thought. I'm a sucker for my cute mate. 

"I will call you Nini!!!! Because Anthony is your second name and it sounds cute!" He said excitedly like he just invented an important thing. I laughed and pinch his cheeks. 

"Alright, that'll do. You are the only one who can call me that. Now, I'll help take a shower and tucked you to bed after." I said smiling at him, he is blushing. 

After helping him shower, he wear a cute pjs with wolf prints on them. My cute little puppy! He lay on his bed and I cover half of his body with covers. I sat beside him and kiss his forehead. 

" I need to go now. You should sleep already, it's already past your bedtime." He looked at me and yawn as he nod. 

"You will come again tomorrow, right?" He asks and nod. I will spend the rest of my week with him until my departure. 

"Goodnight, nini" He said yawn. 

"Goodnight, baby" I caress his hair and stands up when he close his eyes. I dim the light and excited the room.

I walk down the stairs and saw the couple sitting on the couch and looking at me.

"He's asleep already. I should get home and just comeback tomorrow." I said and smile at them.

"Alright. We will let you spend time with him while you're here. I really hope you'll not leave that long" Anne said with sad smile.

"I need to. I want him to have his childhood and not just to be my mate. I also need to train to protect him and the pack." I explained and walk towards the door.

"Thank you for being considerate. I really appreciate it" Jacob smack the back of my head and I looked at him shocked. This bastard!

"Being so formal doesn't suit you! You're still the alpha! Hahaha you look like a fool just now, so sentimental!" He bark a laugh that makes me glare at him. He is still that bastard best friend of mine.

"Fucker! Enjoy it while it last!" I laugh with him.

"Language!" Anne lectured while laughing as well. I said my goodbyes and drive myself home.

Update!! Hihi sorry for taking it so long. I also change Alpha Joseph's age to 19. I calculated it and it's really a huge age gap after 10 years if his age is 23 so I decided to change it.
