Lyra's POV

Eyes still on her as I watched her leave first, I decided to turn around and then my body collided with someone else's; hard and wet were the only words I could use to describe him.

"I'm sorry," his hands grabbed my shoulders as he helped to sturdy my footing that had been made disrupted upon the skin contact.

I wriggled away from his grip and then stood on my ground, shaking my shoulders and nodding my head. "thank you".

He looked around. It was a small tunnel that the prisoners took when they were having a fight like this before.

I was three when Luna abolished such practices. She found it rather barbaric and very inhumane watching the prisoners try to kill themselves while they fought for freedom.
