Devlin's POV

Beatrice fell to her knees, "Devlin, I'm so sorry".

"I would've been happier living here with you". I said as I gestured frustratedly at the house, "it's crap, but I would've been happy. Happy to know that at least, our hair color is the same".

The look in her eyes showed that she didn't understand what I meant by the last line. There was a hint of confusion mixed into the sad look in her eyes.

However, it seems like she didn't try to grasp an understanding of what I meant.

"I don't know what I want to say to you. I don't know anything" I shook my head and wiped off the tears that fell from my eyes.

"Let's not do this again. There's no point really "I continued, "it's better to just put this behind us".
