Chapter Hundred and seven

Lizzie's POV

I was at my breaking point to stop watching. Once a cause of happiness and celebration, the festival has become an ominous signal of my distance from Philip. The bright lights and music and laughter of the festival, which had made my heart sing, suddenly appeared like cruel jokers.

I was becoming more and more disgusted with Philip as he kept embracing Ana and adoring Catherine. For me, it was not only the celebration that had turned sour; it was also my own emotions, weighed down with bitterness and sorrow.

My feelings were on display for everyone to see on the stage that had become the celebration. Every stride I went through the vibrant lights and felt like I was being eliminated, forgotten, and just a none entity in the family.

The touching moment of Philip embracing his new family caught my attention, but I ignored it. I felt repulsed by the sight in addition to being upset by it. It seemed like the enjoyment I knew was vanishing, and the celebration had turned into
