Arthur's POV

Her eyes glowed, not the shade of grey that I saw a couple of minutes ago, they glowed power pink. I tilted my head and caressed her cheeks, and for a second, they changed shades from pink to red.

"Daddy?" Echo calls out, and Quin pulls away from me. Her face is flushed, and although she has melanin dark skin, her cheeks had a shade to her that showed that she was blushing.

I still hold on to her, letting her smell and the taste of her lips linger, and as savoring that was, I felt my heart hurt. Not just a normal type of pain that I can get over, but sharp shooting pain that felt like my heart was breaking.

I felt her. I felt her beside me and it felt like I was cheating on her, even though she was gone. So when my sense kick in, I let go of Quin and leave without saying a word, leaving her both confused at shocked Echo.
