Kaya

I was sitting at the dinner table with my fork in my hand, staring at my plate while poking at a small green pea. I couldn't remember when last we sat around the table like a family and it was boring the hell out of me. I missed Wolfe and for a moment there I hated the way the matebond could make me feel sometimes.

Instead of giving me a chance to be by myself, learn to be independent, and prove to my mate that I could handle myself, it filled me with feelings of longing and regret. The worst feeling of all was the horniness.

I thought the heat would be gone for a couple of days but it was slowly starting to come back. Even now I was wearing a short-sleeved shirt and a pair of white shorts, while my parents were dressed in full winter gear, already talking about how cold it was.

My mom was acting like the happily married wife of this house, pretending she was happy to see my father. Meanwhile, he was also pretending that he was happy to be home and that he didn't just find out
