Chapter 63

Beast

It was an early winter morning. Even while laying in this, I could feel the morning chills from outside, finding its way into the bedroom through small gaps around the windows and door. I pulled my mate tighter to my chest, wanting to keep him warm. It was snowing outside and I didn't want to get cold at all.

Slowly he began to awaken, opening his colorful eyes before he looked at me. His eyes always changed color whenever we touched him. Warmth surged through me when he left soft kisses against my chest.

"Is it morning already?" asked Kaya.

"It is, pup."

I laid on my back, facing up the ceiling. Being in that cell, locked up for cages after all these, made all of this feel too good to be true. I never thought this would be my life after so many years.

"Good...morning..." he snuggled my chest, when the cold creeped in through the sheets.

"Good morning, pup." I wrapped my arms tightly around him not wanting to ever let go.
