"We chased you for 3 years, you thought you a hero, look here you're", As soon the beta left, one of the guards started and others laughed.

"You a cursed rogue, imagine being rejected by your own mate",

"He even decided to make you a pack's slave",

"Can you keep quiet, I want to do my work in peace", l said in a calm voice. One of them annoyingly laughed as if it was funny. "Look at you, you still have that back bone even after being rejected your own mate", He slammed his hands on the wall above me.

"Riddle me this , rogue, why are you still alive?", He asked and my brows furrowed. "How are you pulling his strings, we don't want a rogue to be our luna", I remained silent and felt him get angry. He quickly reached out and grabbed my chin roughly then made me look up at him. His nails were digging in my cheeks but I didn't wince.

"Why is Alpha Kade so easy on you?", He asked again but still l didn't respond to him.

What did he even mean by easy on me?!

"We are going Herbert are you coming or you would rather keep antagonizing that pack's slave", One of them growled. He flared up his nose, air hit my face before he looked up and down at me then turned unto his heels and walked away. As soon as they left , I felt like bursting with anger. I let them humiliate me but next time I will surely deal with them.

I was so tense everywhere. I made my wobbly way out of the room then made my way to the room l was sharing with Jane. Jane wasn't there. I fell back on the bed. I was banned from the kitchen, she might be there. Someone soon knocked on the door. It wasn't a knock to get in but a knock to get me out. I stood up and opened it. I was met with a girl in a slave uniform.

"You needed in the bathroom", she simply informed me. "Where is it .....",She looked me up and down before l could even finish my sentence. She gestured for me to follow her. She was so annoyed that the moment we reached at the door, she wordlessly turned on her heels and walked back to where she had come from.

I opened it and walked in. The room was stunning marbled from the floor tiles to the bathtubs. I walked hesitantly to where l heard the voice from. Behind one flameless door, were two women. I recognized the red head from this far. The instant her eyes met with mine, l felt fury. I knew her. I had never met her before because I was a rogue. But rumours spread everywhere that she was one of the Alpha's whores

"There you are...", She said with a mischievous smirk on her. I now knew it, she was really provoking me. "The drains are clogged up, work you magic slave",She spat again before she hastily walked behind me. Her blond friend followed her. Without saying anything, l walked towards tub. I didn't want to fight with anyone today but they were really provoking me.

She was simply humiliating me. Silently I looked back at her and she crossed her hands. "Are you waiting for formal invitation", The girl next to her snarled. "Dig in", Harriet snarled too and at that l winded my eyes at her. She really had the guts to say that. She wanted me to put my arm inside and remove whatever was clogging the drain.

"You know am playing it cool because, you grown up ass women , Both use common sense and call the professional plumber",l said calmy but as  soon as I did, l i'mmediately felt myself receive a slap on my face. Finding it unbelievable I stood frozen in my place. She had started it. I had never been in a cat fight before but I wasn't going to allow her humiliate me just because she was the beloved whore of Kade.

I started seeing red as outrage got the best of me and with in minutes l literally went for her throat with my elongated fingers. "Be careful bitch dont mess up with me, l will make you drink that tub water", When l said that l seriously meant it. She tried to grab my hair but with all the strength and fury l had in my body, l walked her towards the tub and started to push her head in the tub. I was tired of everything , l lost everything precious in my life and l didn't want anyone to humiliate me.

With her fighting back , soon she slammed me down on the ground but in the end l was on top of her. She tried to nail my cheeks but held them and broke one of her fake nails. "Am gonna help you, sweetie", Her other friend grabbed my arms from behind in death grip. I winced inwardly when her finger nails dug into my arms.

This was the chance of Harriet because she soon enough bitch slapped me. "I will end you ...", She warned . "Who are you going to end you whore", l head butted her then also pulled my hands from her friend's grip. She tried to catch me but I pushed her then she fell down. I slapped Harriet with all the anger l felt for her.

"Don't ever humiliate....", I instantly trailed off when the door quickly burst open. "Lord what is going on here", Miss Daniella walked towards us. She was accompanied by a plumber and another slave girl.

"Did you try to unclog the drain?", The plumber asked as he watched me get off the bitch. "Yes she tried", Harriet responded faster.  I glared at her. She was really provoking me again. "What is it now Harriet?", Miss Daniella asked. "This rogue slave bitch is insane", she responded while feeling her bleeding, scratched cheeks with her finger. "She attacked me", She went on and I glared at her again.

"Look at what she did to my face", the slave girl giggled at that.

"Call the guards to take her to Alpha Kade, he will deal with her", Miss Daniella fumed staring at me.

Slowly, I let go of Henry, who slumped to the ground, clutching his bleeding neck and coughing violently. That dangerous edge made my stomach churn. "Didn't I tell you Henry to monitor this lady with my strongest warriors?." Kade had his eyes on his Beta."Your warriors monitored me but he attacked me first," It was my turn to reply but I said immediately, my voice steady despite the fear curling in my gut. "I defended myself."Kade's dark eyes narrowed, his lips curling into a smirk that sent shivers down my spine.

  • The Alpha’s Rogue Mate   Heat

The next few days passed in a strange quietness, a calmness that I hadn’t expected after everything that had happened. During the day, I trained alongside the pack, pushing myself further than before. Kade’s presence, though still looming in the background, wasn’t as oppressive as it had been. There was a quiet understanding now—a shift in the way he looked at me. He wasn’t constantly hovering, scrutinizing my every move, but I knew that he was watching from the sidelines, waiting to see if I would keep my word.Training felt different. It wasn’t just about proving myself to the pack anymore. It was about proving it to myself. I focused more than ever, growing stronger each day, each sparring match, and feeling my body begin to adapt to the intensity of the training. There were no more whispers of doubt in my mind, no more insecurities about my place here. I was earning my place, step by step.At night, things remained just as peaceful. Kade didn’t come to my room again, and for that,

The training dragged on, but I refused to let exhaustion slow me down. Kade's gaze seemed to follow me with every movement, sharp and calculating, as though he were cataloging my every flaw. He didn’t pair with me again after the initial spar, but his presence loomed over me, pushing me harder than I thought possible.By the time the session ended, my muscles felt like they were made of lead. The pack dispersed slowly, some offering me lingering looks, others ignoring me entirely. I stayed behind, leaning against a wooden post to catch my breath.“You held your own today.”The voice startled me. I turned to see Torren standing a few feet away, arms crossed, his smirk less mocking this time.“Barely,” I muttered, wiping the sweat from my brow.“Barely’s better than nothing,” he said with a shrug. “Most don’t land a hit on Kade their first time sparring. You’ve got potential.”His words, while backhanded, felt oddly like praise. I narrowed my eyes at him. “Why does it sound like there’s

The morning came too soon. A soft beam of sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a golden glow across the room. My body felt heavy, as though the exhaustion of the previous day had embedded itself deep into my bones. I blinked groggily, disoriented by the unfamiliar warmth cocooning me.And then it hit me.Kade.My heart lurched, and I instinctively jerked back, only to find that the source of warmth was no longer lying beside me. The bed was empty, the sheets on his side rumpled but cold. I let out a shaky breath, a mixture of relief and confusion washing over me.Had he left? Why hadn’t I woken up when he did? The thought that I’d slept so soundly in his presence both unnerved and irritated me.I pushed myself upright, clutching the blanket to my chest as I scanned the room. The bathroom door was closed, but I didn’t hear the sound of running water. My gaze darted to the small desk near the window, where a folded piece of paper caught my eye.Curiosity tugged at me, and I s

The rest of the day blurred into a haze of exhaustion. Training with the pack wasn’t just physical; it was mental, a constant test of endurance and focus. The wolves pushed me relentlessly, their disdain obvious in their sneers and muttered comments. I didn’t care. Every blow I blocked, every hit I landed, was another small victory, another step closer to proving I didn’t belong at the bottom of their hierarchy.By the time the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in streaks of red and gold, my body felt like it had been put through a meat grinder. I limped back to my room, muscles screaming in protest with every step. The clean, sterile space greeted me with an emptiness that felt heavier than before.I made my way to the bathroom.I started the shower, and peacefully washed my body. The room felt colder after Kade left, his presence lingering like a shadow I couldn’t shake. His words swirled in my head, heavy with implications I couldn’t unravel. You’re asking questions you don’t want the answers to. The truth. That’s what I wanted, but was it what I needed? What could possibly be so dangerous about knowing the truth?I leaned back against the bedpost, staring at the ceiling, my thoughts refusing to settle. Kade is well known as brute, a man who ruled through fear and dominance, yet through out this day, something about him felt... different. Like he wasn’t entirely the monster I’d painted him to be.That thought made me angrier than it should have.I stood abruptly, needing to move, to do something. My room, though bigger than the one I’d been thrown into when I first arrived, still felt like a prison. The clean walls, the soft bed, the untouched clothes—it was all a farce. As I walked back to my room, my mind raced with confusion and anger. Kade's sudden shift in tone had left me reeling. He had spent so much time treating me like an inconvenience—his enemy even. But for a moment, just a fleeting moment, there was something softer in his voice. It wasn’t enough to convince me he wasn’t a monster, but it was enough to keep me awake tonight, questioning everything.I shook my head, scoffing under my breath. "What the hell is wrong with me? Since when does 'clean yourself up' count as sweet?"Yet, I couldn’t deny the flicker of something I’d seen in his eyes. It wasn’t just anger or frustration. There was hesitation, maybe even a hint of… concern? That thought made me stop in my tracks. Concern wasn’t something I associated with Kade. He was a brute, a dictator, someone who seemed to view me as an inconvenience at best and a burden at worst. But then, why hadn’t he punished me for eavesdropping? Why hadn’t he locked me up, as he so often did before? Why ha
