Chapter Seventy Eight

At last, Denis made up an excuse and they left. They were now on their way back to the hotel. They were walking side by side but Denis was staring straight ahead, not even sparing her a glance.

She was curious about why he did what he did earlier, was this another one of the rules she didn’t know about? She had to ask.

“Why did you do that? Earlier?”

“Do what?” Denis asked still not looking at her.

“Stop me from talking.”

“Because I had to, it was for your own good.” Denis said hastily under his breath like he couldn’t wait to end the conversation.

“You’re going to have to be a little more explicit.” Kelsey told him unconvinced that he’d do something just for her own good.

“Listen, It’s a competition. Everyone is the enemy. You can’t go around giving people information they don’t deserve to know.” She certainly hadn’t thought about it like that.

“But they asked for the game I’m participating in not my secret strategy.” She said stubbornly.
