Sixty Three.

Willow

“I’m not shifting.” I mutter through gritted teeth. The pain was different and spreading quickly. It feels like hot flames are licking every inch of my skin, but at the same time, burning me from the inside out. A shift had never felt like this. Yes it was painful, but not on this level.

“Little wolf. Let her out.” He mutters softly

His insanely dark eyes lock on mine and it starts to become difficult to breathe. Like my lungs were no longer functioning. That the air inside of them was stuck. Was this it for me?

Zane places a hand against my chest. My heart thunders beneath. “Stop panicking, just shift. It might help.” He speaks softly and yet his words were deafening.

“It’s not that.” I splutter

“It’s just me. I’m not going to let anything happen to you. You have to trust that I will look after you.”

There was that word again. ‘Trust.’ Such a simple word that held so much meaning.
