For a moment, I felt like I was back on that stage. All eyes on me, whispers running through the crowd. At least none of them were thinking about stroking their cocks.

I pause to take a deep breath, reminding myself that Zane had told me we could leave at any point if it became too much. But now I am here, I want to prove a point. That I wasn't running scared anymore.

“Are you good?” Zane whispers in my ear

I nod and take a step forward.

“Then let's get a drink to steady those nerves.” He glances down to his hand where my nails are firmly embedded in his skin.

“Sorry.” I whisper, uncurling my fingers. Little bloody crescents are quick to heal. He smiles at me and presses his lips to my cheek.

In the corner, I spot Harlow staring at me. He is deep in conversation with another man that I don’t recognise but his eyes are fixated on me.

At the bar, Zane orders me a glass of wine and though I wasn’t a drinker, I glug that thing like my life depended on it.
