Willow
“Just breathe.” I whisper, staring in the mirror at my reflection.I didn’t recognise the person looking back at me.
Far too much makeup for my liking. Thick mascara coated my lashes that were supposed to make my caramel eyes pop. Bright red lip stain coated my lips, making them look much fuller than what they really are. Foundation covered the bruise sitting on my left cheek, because Goddess forbid that someone sees that.
My blonde hair had been tied back in some kind of fancy updo to show off my face properly. To draw attention to my slender neck and my decent sized breasts because that’s what the men like to see. They liked to know what they were buying. They wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with their goods.
I turn, checking to make sure that the most important parts of me were covered. Though the red dress just drew more attention. The way it hung off of my curves, but clung in all the right places. I hated it, but that was what they wanted. It was always what they wanted.
“Two six three, you’re next.” The manager shouts at me. “And none of the shit you pulled last time. There are a lot of men here tonight. And they all have deep pockets. Don’t fuck it up!”
I try to ignore the butterflies in my stomach. The last two times, I had freaked out before getting up on the stage. After a few beatings, I was taken back to my cell, rather than sold. Forced to wait until they had another sold out show. They had to get their money's worth out of me.
I don’t respond to the manager. She grips my elbow, pushing me towards the stage.
A dark glare is shot in my direction. I knew that if I didn’t walk out there this time, I would probably never walk again, that’s if they didn’t kill me. I was worthless if I wasn’t paying for my debts.
It was and still is my biggest regret. But I had to do it, I had to save my family. I had to do everything I could to keep them alive.
My number is called and I carefully climb the small stairs, trying to avoid tripping over the chains that were cuffed to my ankles. Looking back, I see the girl after me is already crying.
She was barely eighteen and from what I could gather, her parents sold her to these bastards. I wondered if the parents knew what they did to us? I wondered if they truly cared? I wondered if they knew that we would spend a life of being abused and raped. And that was if we were lucky.
Walking out, the chains clink around my bare feet. I blink back the tears as the metal sears my skin and focus on the crowd.
The room is full with men, not an empty seat in the house. I close my eyes as I’m introduced. Listening to all the wolf whistles and the slurs. It was degrading, but I had put myself in this position and I would have to accept the consequences.
“For my family.” I whisper, taking a deep breath and stepping into the spotlight.
My heart hammers in my chest. Focussing on my breathing helps to keep it under control.
The host begins shouting numbers and the bidding begins as I’m made to walk back and forth across the stage. The very same host approaches me and rips my dress from me. Revealing my creamy skin and everything that went along with it.
The men in the front row shift in their seats, salivating over my body, trying to hide their hardening cocks. Internally I scream. I would rather kill myself then let any of these assholes touch me with their dicks.
“Just breathe.”
My eyes somehow fall on to the one man who is sitting in silence, three or four rows back. His dark eyes are heavily focussed on me. He turns his beautiful face to the man next to him who immediately raises his paddle and yells ‘five hundred thousand outright!’
I couldn’t speak even if I wanted to, the bidding never went that high. Fifty thousand at the most. The boss would be riddled with happiness and my family’s debt would be paid.
I could see the excitement in the host's eyes. It will be a hefty commission for him. Or so he thinks. The boss will kill him the moment tonight is over. Like he did every host. He was too greedy to share.
I’m pulled from the stage. The manager quickly wraps a robe around me and checks my ankles. I knew she was looking at the wounds that the silver chains caused. She was a bitch, but she did ask me multiple times if I was sure I wasn’t allergic. I have always just shook my head. Which would be followed by a look of pity.
It would scare the shit out of them if they knew the truth. Humans could rarely handle the truth.
I’m given a drink and some food.
That was the funny thing about these assholes, they liked to act like they cared, when it suited them. Now that they had been offered big money for me, it was important to show the buyer that I was worth it. That I was a prized possession, that I was looked after. Especially as I had been bought outright and not just for the night.
A strong waft of oak and maple fill my nose just as I’m about to take a bite of the burger.
Shit! Another Wolf
My back straightens and the hairs on my neck stand on end. The burger falls from my fingers as the man who won me appears.
It’s only now that I see just how dark his eyes are, like onyx or a black hole, waiting to swallow me whole. The darkness signified his status in the world, an Alpha and that was the last thing I needed.
“This is Willow.” The manager is smiling from ear to ear as she introduces me. It was weird hearing my name roll off her tongue, she usually just uses my number. Two six fucking three. The number that they had branded me with. It showed how long they had been doing this.
“I’m sure you will be very happy with her. We don’t do refunds.”
The Alpha squats in front of me, his dark eyes locking with mine. His jawline is sharp, just like the shaved edges of his black hair. As he crouches in front of me, I see the seams of his suit struggling against his muscles.
His eyes flicker down to the chains and the burns on my ankles. He keeps a poker face.
“Can we remove these!” It wasn’t a question and there was no hiding the annoyance in his tone.
“The boss—”
“She doesn’t belong to the boss anymore.” He snaps at the manager
The butterflies in my stomach swarm. ‘Belong’ That was the last thing I wanted. If a human had brought me, I would have found a way to escape but now, there would be no chance. Fuck!
“I will–I will just get the keys.” The manager quickly teeters off on her incredibly high stilettos that she could barely walk in. While the Alpha’s unnerving dark eyes stay on me.
“Are you hurt?” He asks quietly.
I just sit and stare at him, weighing up my options. He sounded genuine, but so many assholes did. And I had met a lot of them before I ended up here.“I’m Zane Hallow.” He glances around “Alpha of Night Watch.”
I still don’t speak
“Willow, right?” He asks
The manager comes back, her heels clacking along the wooden floor. “I’m so sorry, Mister Hallow. We believe she has damaged her vocal chords.” Her eyes flicker to me. “She was due to see a doctor tomorrow.” she lies, why was she lying? The money? The guilt?
Alpha Zane Hallow’s eyes flash back to me. He knew it was a lie too. You could always smell when a human is lying. It’s like their breath reeks of death.
“The chains.” He snaps at the manager and she quickly unbinds my ankles. It felt so good to be freed and to not feel the silver burn my flesh little by little.
The Alpha clicks his fingers and the guy who had shouted the bid for me appears with bandages. The Alpha delicately wraps one around each ankle and something tells me that he isn’t usually so—gentle. That this is all an act.
“Can you walk?”
I nod and get to my feet. The robe is still the only thing covering me. Alpha Zane holds an elbow out for me, waiting expectantly for me to take it. It wasn’t an ask, but an expectation and I already knew shit was going to get ten times worse.
We walk through the crowd of other women. I wanted to hug each and every one of them and whisper that I will get them out, that I would find a way to get justice for them. I didn’t care that they were human. We all had that same sorrowful look. Hope had disappeared down the drain.
Being sold and not being sold, it didn’t make a difference, life was hell for us behind closed doors.
I’m taken to a private room, just me and Alpha Zane Hallow. He stands in front of me, eyeing my robe, probably desperate to have what was underneath. He couldn’t even wait to get me home to fuck me. How fucking noble!
“Maybe these will make you feel more comfortable.” He leans down next to me and picks up a bag. I had been to focussed on keeping my attention on him to notice it.
He pulls out some clothes, dropping them onto the small table.
It was a shit tactic. Trying to make me voluntarily strip before he sticks his cock in me.
“Go on then.” I snap, locking my eyes on his and ripping my robe open. “Fuck me!”
WillowHe cocks an eyebrow at me, “Oh I will, but on my terms. Get dressed!”The Alpha turns, striding out of the door and slamming it shut behind him. What the hell did he mean on his terms? He bought me. There could only be one reason why. Especially for the price he paid.Hastily pulling on the hoodie and sweatpants, I groan and pull the door open. The Alpha and the guy I assume is his Beta, are both waiting for me.“Better?” Alpha Zane asksI glare at him. How did he think this could be better? The last thing I needed was an Alpha getting involved in this shit. I had it all handled. I keep my mouth shut. Sticking my tongue in my cheek and look the other way. I didn’t care that he thought he was someone special. I didn’t care if he thought he owned me.“Do you ever listen to your superiors?”“You are not my Alpha.” The words are sour as they roll from my tongue.“You are right, I’m not, but I own you.” His words are just as spiteful as mine and his face is expressionless. He is re
Willow“Ah, there she is!” I wince at the bright light burning my eyes.My head throbbed, my mouth was drier than a desert “Mrs Hallow. You gave us all a worry for a moment.” The nurse puts her torch away.Mrs Hallow? Did I hear that right?“Do you know where you are? Your husband has been called, he will be back in a few minutes.”Husband? The last thing I remember is running away from a mad fucking Alpha. My eyes flash around the room. “Hospital?” My voice is husky from the dryness. “Very good.” The nurse smiles at me. “And how are you feeling?”“Like I’ve been run over by a bus.” I groan and wonder how long I had been out for.“Well, you have been out for a few days. You are bound to feel some aches and pains from the lack of movement.” She tucks a strand of her mousey brown hair behind her ear. “But your husband got you here just in time. You are very lucky to have him.”I nod, rubbing my temples. I feel the bandage wrapped around my head and I sigh.“You have stitches.” The nur
WillowThe uneasiness grows, settling in the pit of my stomach as he watches the nurse change my dressing. He asks questions like a caring husband would. Only I knew the truth. I already could tell what kind of sick bastard he was. It was his way or no way.“When can I leave?” I ask as the nurse gives my bandage a final checkThe mousy haired woman smiles at the arsehole and tells him instead of me. “Maybe tomorrow if the doctor is happy with everything.”“That’s brilliant. Then I can take you home.” Alpha Zane smiles at me before he goes back to eyeballing Angela. “Really?” I mutter when she leaves. “Claiming to be my husband, yet checking out the nurse.”“Do you have a problem with me checking her out, little wolf?” He cocks a brow at me. The corners of his lips curving up into a smirk.I don’t respond. He could do whatever or whoever he wanted as long as he stayed away from me.“Tomorrow you will join Night Watch.” He announcesI snort and fold my arms across my chest.“You will b
WillowLarge black gates sit in front of us. They are easily twenty feet tall, and looked like they were trying to keep people in as much as keep something out. Two black wolves sat either side of the gates. I had never been to a pack where they would guard in their wolf form. It was off putting. Their sense of smell would be stronger. They would be faster too. From the corner of my eye, I see the Alpha watching me. A smug smile on his face. He already knew I was planning on running. And he knew I had just encountered another problem. The black wolves move to the car, sniffing all around. They pause by the door on my side and one stands on its hind legs to look in through the window at me. It’s brown eyes studying me for a moment.“She’s mine.” Alpha Zane mutters as he winds down my window“Mine? Who the hell do you think you are?!” I snap.He grins as the wolves move back to their original position and the gates begin to open. Stevens restarts the car, creeping it through the openin
WillowIt takes me a few minutes to pull myself together. I wasn’t someone who cried. I preferred to push all my feelings down until I could no longer feel them. Yet he dragged it out of me so fucking easily?Pushing away from him, I lower my face, waiting for the tears to stop as I try to force everything back in.He doesn’t speak yet I feel his dark eyes on me, roaming my body as he decides his next move.“Can I get some water?” I murmur, suddenly feeling claustrophobic and hoping he would let me out of this stuffy office.“Of course.”What I didn’t expect was for him to have a mini fridge in his office. He really meant it when he said he wasn’t letting me out of his sight. From the corner of my eye, I watch him pour water into a glass. He hands it to me without speaking another word.Sipping it silently, I was trying to decide whether I should lob it at his head. For now, I decide against it. He was an Alpha, he would heal in no time and I would just make my life ten times more dif
ZaneIt’s quiet when I turn the water off. I knew she hadn’t left. There was no way out of the bedroom without a key and I had it.As I get closer to the door, I hear the subtle sounds of pencil scratching on paper. She sits at the desk with one leg folded up on the chair, her arm wrapped around it as she concentrates. She had pulled her blonde hair back into a loose bun at the bottom of her neck and seemed oblivious to me watching her.Half the packets of pencils had been torn open, the boxes discarded on the floor along with many of the sketchbooks. Her shoulders aren’t so tense and from here I could see a corner of her lip curved up into a smile. The first natural smile I had seen since I laid my eyes on her. I could see why they wanted big money for her at the auction. I had done since I first laid eyes on her.***Stevens and I had been on our way to a meeting when I caught her scent. It wasn’t like anything I had smelt before. Strong cinnamon and I had to find her. There was no
WillowKeep it together, just keep it together.I keep my gaze on the window, feeling Zanes' dark eyes burn into the back of my head. I remember my dads words from when I was a kid. “If a wolf wants to claim you as a mate. Don’t fight it. It will be the better option.”Don’t fight it? Did he really think I was going to lay down and a let a wolf fuck me through life?Zane hadn’t spoken since he had told me that he wouldn’t let me go. I feel him move around behind me. Each movement echoing in my head, waiting for him to put his hands on me again. This time he doesn’t and when I catch a glimpse of his reflection in the window, he is sitting on the bed pulling on his black Timberlands. Not even bothering to watch me.“I have a meeting.” He mutters, standing up to full height. The black jeans and shirt fit him perfectly. They also made him look as though he could disappear in the dark. But they didn't exactly scream 'meeting'.I turn in the chair to look at him. “You are making me go with
Willow“You needed sleep and it was the only way I could be sure of it.” He mutters, unphased by my reaction. “And,” He adds with a smile, “this way, I knew you couldn’t do something stupid and try to run.”I was speechless. If he thought it was so easy to drug me, then what else was he capable of?My thighs clamp together and his eyes shift to the movement under the comforter. “Don’t worry, little wolf, I haven’t touched you, yet. But one day you will be begging me too.”He moves from the chair revealing a plate of breakfast pastries. I’m not going to lie, they look delicious, but what if he has drugged them too? What if this was his plan to make sure I stay here?“They haven’t been touched.” He mutters, like he could read my mind, which only makes me frown. We could both hear my stomach growling, but still, I stay rooted to the bed. I was used to going without food now and again. The grumbling stomach didn’t bother me, I had heard it much louder than it is now.“Eat.” He moves to an
WillowAsh hurries me through the house with his hand pressed to my lower back and a concerned look on his face. I could recognise his expressions better than Zane’s. He taps my lower back, “Keep walking, don’t stop.”If anyone but him or Zane tried to do that, I would have smacked them, but I’m guessing Zane had explicitly requested that Ash keep a hand on me at all times. As we walk through the house, I see Greyson wave a couple of men forward. One steps in front of us, taking the lead, while the other joins at the rear, following us as we move. It made me feel like I had some kind of power and that I must be protected at all costs, but do I really need that much protection? If only Layla could see me now. I know she would find the whole situation hilarious. Before the end, even on the darkest days, she managed to keep so many of us focusing on the good things.I’m guided out of a different door than the one we walked through to enter the house. It leads to a familiar hallway, one
Zane“Why would you do this?” Willow challenges Saskia.“Annabella,” she sneers. “Drives me up the fucking wall. I’m happy to see her squirm. You know she has caused a lot of issues for others, right, not just you?”There is a tiny smirk at the corners of Willow’s lips as Saskia sits in the empty chair. She folds her long legs over each other and smiles at my mate.“I admit, I was surprised to see you, but what you don’t know is that it was the best surprise.” She glances at me. “I shouldn’t have said what I said about her being a half-breed. I think I was just thrown by the situation, and it’s clear from your Beta that you are happy.”“I am.” I grin at her, wondering how Stevens managed to pull this off so quickly and get Saskia to set Harlow up. Whatever he did, it seemed like Saskia was more than happy to help.“What did you do?” Willow asks.“Left my underwear in Harlow’s bed and made sure an Omega saw me leaving his room. For it to have kicked off this quickly, I assume she went
Hey everyone. I hope you are well.I just wanted to give a little update for those that don't follow me on socials.I have the rest of The Alpha's Obsession ready to go, however, I am currently holding back from uploading it due to the huge amount of piracy issues I have surrounding my other ongoing book. And I'm sure you will understand that I do not want to give these people the satisfaction of taking anymore of my hard earned work. I'm really sorry, I know you are expecting it, and trust me when I say, no one is more upset than I am. I enjoy telling stories and these pirates are taking that away from me.All I can say is that I will upload when this piracy business has been sorted.Take care Taylor West.*please feel free to follow me on socials to be kept up to date*
Hey guys, so I hate having to do this, but this book is currently on pause while I sort out a few things. I don't like updating the book so infrequently, so the plan is to get this book finished and then have it all uploaded fairly quickly rather than less than a few chapters a week.I hope you all understand.Thank you
Willow“Of course not.” Harlow frowns. “I can’t expect you to forget something that changed your life.”I step back from him. “So what do you want from me?”“I miss you.”“You don’t even know me anymore. This,” I gesture at my dress, “Isn’t me! The fancy shoes, everything you see, it’s all put on for this night. Because I, was looking for something.”“What are you looking for?” He asks curiously“It doesn’t matter.” I turn away from him and practically crash into Zane.“Are you okay?” Zane scowls“I want to leave.”“Will?” Harlow mutters from behind me“It was a mistake coming here.” I tell Zane. “All their fucking judgy eyes on me the entire time. Whispers spreading like wildfire.” I spin around to stare at Harlow. “Is that why you wanted me to come? To remind me of what I lost? To show everyone that I’m still here. The half wolf, half human abomination?”“It wasn’t like that, Will. I just wanted you to see that I am changing things.”I gesture to the garden. “This isn’t changing thi
WillowFor a moment, I felt like I was back on that stage. All eyes on me, whispers running through the crowd. At least none of them were thinking about stroking their cocks.I pause to take a deep breath, reminding myself that Zane had told me we could leave at any point if it became too much. But now I am here, I want to prove a point. That I wasn't running scared anymore.“Are you good?” Zane whispers in my earI nod and take a step forward.“Then let's get a drink to steady those nerves.” He glances down to his hand where my nails are firmly embedded in his skin.“Sorry,” I whisper, uncurling my fingers. Little bloody crescents are quick to heal. He smiles at me and presses his lips to my cheek. In the corner, I spot Harlow staring at me. He is deep in conversation with another man that I don’t recognise but his eyes are fixated on me.At the bar, Zane orders me a glass of wine and though I wasn’t a drinker, I glug that thing like my life depended on it.Zane raises a brow at me,
Zane“Do you think he is trying to win her over?” Steven’s asks as he hands me a black tie“It would be a fucking mistake. He knows it would start a war and he and his pack wouldn’t survive that.”“Whatever feelings Willow once had for him have long gone.” He tells me, “She is mated to you, not him.”“She’s spoken to you about him, hasn’t she?”“Briefly. You already know there was something between them in the past, long before you came into her life. All I am confirming is that she has no interest in going back to him.”I hear footsteps shuffle across the carpet upstairs. Bailey is first to appear. A massive grin on her face. She hurries down the stairs towards us and turns to admire her own work as Willow steps forward. The ruby red dress is a stark contrast to her creamy skin, but nevertheless, it is beautiful. The bodice is perfectly fitted to her curves, cradling her breasts beautifully. It nips in tight at the waist then turns into free flowing fabric that covers her legs.Willo
WillowI was grateful to get back to our bedroom. I sit at my desk with a leg pulled up and using the other one to rotate me back and forth. I’m still annoyed with myself that my body betrayed me, but I won’t lie, Zane certainly knew what he was doing. My pussy still throbbed from the repeated…. Catching sight of my reflection in the window, a smile is plastered to my face. Okay, it was more than enjoyable.I doodle absentmindedly, but my eyes keep moving to the note that is sitting on the corner of my desk. I had put it there when I first sat down, trying to decide if Zane was right. Was I prepared for the answers? Was I prepared for more bad news? How much worse could it get?Zanes' oak and maple scent gradually grows stronger until he flings the door open. It bounces off the wall with force as he enters the room. “You have been invited to a ball!”He drops the open envelope in front of me.“A ball? The last time I went to a ball was when I was a kid and it was being hosted by Harl
ZaneI had seen other females in heat. It came with the territory of being an Alpha. Though no one has ever fought it as much as Willow is.My hand stills, as much as I wanted to satisfy her. This had to be on her terms. I didn’t want her to hate me for forcing her to go through with something she would later regret and resent me for.“I don’t want a child.” she whispers, keeping her gaze low. She had made that more than clear on multiple occasions. Something that I hope she will come around to in the end. Having an heir was an important part of my future. But it didn’t have to be right now.“Okay.” This time, it could just be about satisfying her needs. Though there was no guaranteeing that's all that will happen. There was a reason why she was in heat.My reply seems to relax her a little. I tuck a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear. My fingers slip between the soft waves, settling on the back of her neck. She tilts her face up to me. Her creamy skin is flush from the heat. “
