“Do you think he is trying to win her over?” Steven’s asks as he hands me a black tie

“It would be a fucking mistake. He knows it would start a war and he and his pack wouldn’t survive that.”

“Whatever feelings Willow once had for him have long gone.” He tells me, “She is mated to you, not him.”

“She’s spoken to you about him, hasn’t she?”

“Briefly. You already know there was something between them in the past, long before you came into her life. All I am confirming is that she has no interest in going back to him.”

I hear footsteps shuffle across the carpet upstairs. Bailey is first to appear. A massive grin on her face. She hurries down the stairs towards us and turns to admire her own work as Willow steps forward.
