I stare at the note in my hand. Reading those three words over and over. ‘She must survive.’ Why was it so important? Important enough that my father had pinned it to the back of the door. Important enough that he had to write it down, but why? Anyone could have found it. Or maybe that was the point.

If he had known his death was coming. Why hadn’t he told anyone? Or maybe he knew he couldn’t trust anyone. I could curse him for getting me into such a mess. Though it won’t make a difference. Not now.

Sinking into my chair, I pull my left leg up in front of me with a sigh and use my right foot to rotate me side to side.

Is this why Cara had come after me? Had she seen this note? Did she think my father was talking about me? She did keep talking about me being the Alpha and drawing power from the Moon.

There were just too many unanswered questions floating around. Puffing out my cheeks, I take a final look at the note and then chuck it into my desk drawer. It wouldn’t be like we c
