"Layla—"

"You don't have to interact with him if you don't want to; you can just check up on him from afar. I just want to know how he's doing. Please." Layla begged, clasping her hands together in front of her. "Please, I'm just worried about him. Please, can you help me."

She was dying to know how Zayne was doing. He had called out to her when she was leaving, but she hadn't seen him. Even though they hadn't parted on good terms, she just wanted to be sure he was taking her disappearance well. A part of her hated that she had shunned him away all the times he tried to see her. He had to apologise, and she didn't even answer him. She just pretended he wasn't there while she balled her eyes out.

She couldn't blame herself for ignoring him. The pain still lingered in her. Her dreams were still plagued by what happened that day. But it didn't mean she didn't care for him. If Zayne had really meant the apology, then he would be at least a little bit heartbroken that she left.
