Arabella's POV

I had been thinking deeply about if my father was alive. If he was, it would have altered everything! I would have killed someone innocent.

I shook my head. It had to be a lie.

I was still in bed, thinking when I heard someone knock on the door.

"Come in!" I yelled.

A maid opened the door slowly with her hands behind her back. She came to me first but I could sense there were others with her.

She had her head low and her face straight.

"What is it?!" I yelled at her.

She shook her head, asking if my night went well. I huffed. I didn't want to be bothered and I reminded her of that but here she was.

"It must be something important for you to come into my room when I had asked not to be disturbed".

She told me of some women who had come to see me.

"They looked pitiful and I thought you should see them. I could not have the heart to turn them away". She pleaded.
