Chapter 67

Alpha Asher’s POV

I swallowed hard. My blood was next?... What did he mean?

I turned around quickly, only to be greeted by the sight of nothing. “Hello… is someone there?” the little pup that I was whispering to.

The woods I was in were so silent that I could hear myself. My whisper had turned to a loud echo. It frightened me.

A cold wind blew through where I was. It came too suddenly and slowly. Along with it, came music. I was sure I had heard a woman sing, or maybe it was a figment of my imagination, I just couldn’t tell.

“Helloo…”

Again. No one. I turned away from the old haunted hut and began to walk back through the path I had come from. With everything I had seen so far, I didn’t feel the need to be adventurous anymore. I just wanted to go home.

My steps were fast and orderly. I tried to calm my young self for as long as I could, yet, my mind was chaotic.
