Chapter 72

Jeremy's POV

"What happened?" I growled, massaging my head. I looked around but I was surrounded by darkness.

"Is this the afterlife? Or am I still in the mortal realm?" I questioned myself, now sitting on the stone bed on which I once laid.

"There's only one way to find out," I grumbled and placed my feet on the cold floor. Although I was a bit wobbly at first, I got the hang of it and headed to what I thought was the entrance.

After using my fingers to examine, I figured I was in a tomb so I summoned all the strength I had to push the stone away. The brightness of daylight made me close my eyes and run back in.

Shielding my eyes from the intense sunlight, I stumbled out of the tomb, my vision gradually adjusting to the bright surroundings. The air was crisp, and the warmth of the sun felt soothing on my skin after what seemed like an eternity in that dark enclosure.

I stretched my arms overhead, relishing the freedom of movement. "Well, that was an unexpected awakening," I mumble
