CHAPTER 31

"What?" Hannah spluttered at the same time I cursed the king in my head. What the fuck is wrong with him? Why did he want to see me? Why did he have to send for me now?

"You'll have to ask the king that question. Nevaeh" Hermes called and I instantly gathered my things, following him out of the room.

I could feel Hannah's stare on me and I could almost guess what was going on in her head. The little I had done to convince her that the king had no interest in me had gone to waste. She was probably thinking of ways to deal with me.

"Drop this here. Someone will pick it up" Hermes gestured to the supplies I was carrying. I listened to him and set them on the ground. We continued wordlessly until we got to the king's office.

"Go on in" he nodded to the door and I listened, twisting the knob and pushing it open. I stood at the doorway, looking around in the dark room.

"Come here" his commanding voice broke the silence. Shivers ran down my spine at the tone of his voice and my wolf was alr
