My body was having a difficult time responding. It felt like all my muscles had turned to steel as I watched the scene unfold in front of me. It all happened so fast. The minute I was cooking, looking forward to enjoying the time off and the next minute, my worst nightmare appeared in front of me. I tried to get away. I really did but I was no match for the deranged psychopath. I was still confused about how he had found me. Who could have told him? Martha? I didn't get to dwell on my thoughts when he attacked me. It felt like Kaden all over. I could never defend myself and he always ended up getting what he wanted. I wanted to fight. I really wanted to but my body closed off. And when it felt like my fate had already been decided, the king came. I've never felt so much relief seeing him before. He tore that bastard male off me and tore his head off his shoulder, blood splattering over my face, and my chest heaved heavily. There my assaulter was, lying dead and dismembered. He could
I was surrounded by darkness. Pitch black darkness and I couldn't see with my werewolf vision. Everything just felt so dark. I checked my limbs and I could move them. I navigated my way in the darkness, looking for anything at all to hold onto. To guide me through to an exit so it doesn't feel like I'm being consumed by the heavy darkness but with each step, I lost hope of finding anything. There was just darkness, more darkness as I walked. It didn't seem like I was making any progress with my attempt to go out. I wasn't even sure if I was moving in the right direction. Was this even the way to the exit? I stood stiffly on the spot where I currently was, rotating to check for an alternate means of getting out. My head felt heavy after that spin and I stopped. I fell to my knees, just sitting in pitch-black darkness. I shut my eyes tightly and said a quick prayer to the goddess. Nothing good could ever come out of being in this type of situation. It was so dark...I needed to get out.
KING TYRON’s POVI watched them walk out of the room and then I followed, shutting the door behind myself. We stood outside the door and they stared at me. "Wait for me in my office""Yes my lord" they chorused and walked away. I listened for any sound coming from inside but there was none. I was concerned and worried about her. Her reaction after waking up was nothing like I expected. Maybe she was upset that I locked her in. I was angry and I admit that I may have gone too far but the petrified look in her eyes when she saw me...when I tried to touch her. It made me convinced that there was something else. I was determined to find out what made her like this no matter the cost. I moved away from the door, heading towards my office to see the healer. I didn't bother putting guards at the door because she didn't want to be around any male so it would be triggering if she came out and saw one. I entered my office and Patrick stood up to bow along with his assistant. I waved their form
THIRD PERSON POVMartha couldn't focus on her tasks for the day. It has been like that for the past week. She was worried about Nevaeh. The girl had experienced a lot of things in the last few days. She could remember as clear as day when they discovered her unconscious. A guard raised the alarm. Her body was cold and they were unsure of when she passed out. She remembered the shock on the king's face which was a surprise to her. The bigger surprise was when he had snatched her from the guard, demanding for the healer to be brought in. The healer had checked her and they wished Nevaeh would open her eyes to regain consciousness. She wished Nevaeh would open her eyes so the whole castle would be at ease. Especially the king who didn't try to hide it anymore about what they were. Martha was secretly happy about it. If he was accepting her, it was a good sign even though she was still upset that the king treated his mate the way he did. It was unheard of amongst wolves. Martha tried to
KING TYRON's POVI couldn't believe my eyes. I couldn't understand how the fuck they aren't present in the room. They were supposed to be in here. Nevaeh was not healed enough to be out of this room. I entered, throwing the bathroom doors and closet door but they weren't inside. I stormed out, going down the hallway. Her scent was weak in the hallways which meant that she had come outside. Martha's scent was in the bedroom but it wasn't strong in the hallways. Like she only walked through them. What the fuck did Martha do? I tightened my fists, getting upset at the thought that she just did something stupid. She should have checked in with me before taking Nevaeh out. I won't care about Hermes' feelings and their relationship when I punish her this time. I opened the door at the entrance of the wing. The guards usually present there were standing outside. "Did you see Nevaeh?" they looked in confusion between themselves, not answering my question and worsening my mood. "Did she lea
All the days merged into one. I couldn't tell exactly what date it was. I moved quickly and did all my tasks like a robot. Not speaking to anyone and was just lost in my head. This is how it should have been from the start. My life should have been silent and I wouldn't have attracted the attention of so many. My life wouldn't have turned out horribly. I saw the stars and heard the whispers as I passed. Some pitied me, some mocked me, some didn't care, and some just wanted to speak about what happened. In actual truth, I didn't care. I didn't know a lot of them so their opinions in my life didn't matter. They had not lived a quarter of the life I lived. They had never walked in my shoes. If they had, they wouldn't be spewing all the shit that came out of their mouths. My health and physical life were deteriorating. I didn't need anyone to tell me that. It was very obvious. I had a difficult time eating as each meal ended up in the trash can. I had the most difficult time sleeping too
THIRD PERSON POVHannah was restless. She couldn't sit still even if she forced herself to. Whenever she thought of the current situation, and the way Hermes had spoken to her that day, her desire to find the stupid slave girl and make her pay grew stronger. How dare anyone warn her because of that peasant. She was itching to get her hands on her. So far, she had not made any reasonable plans on what to do with the girl. She knew that this wouldn't be like the other servant girls where the king paid no attention and she was left to do as she pleased. Nobody would turn the other way if they saw her punishing her. The king's reaction..... But even the thought wasn't enough to stop her. If she couldn't do it where she would be seen, then she could do it secretly. Teach the dumb girl a lesson so that she would know to stay away from her male.'He's not ours' her wolf said tiredly. Her human was obsessed with the king. Countless times, she's reminded her that he wasn't their mate but she d
KING TYRON’s POVI couldn't get over the shock I was feeling. From the bountiful smile that covered her face to the baby she was cradling in her arms. For weeks, I've longed to hear her speak and come out from the mood she was in. But nothing worked and I was starting to feel like a disappointment each day because I wasn't able to catch the man who assaulted her. And knowing it was my fault she was put in that situation made it even more difficult for me. I had fucked up badly. Big time and if I could turn the hands of time back, I'll do better. “Accept her as our mate?’ my wolf asked and I went silent. That was difficult for me because I didn't want a mate. The last time I kept a lover…it didn't end so well for me so I wasn't ready to go through that again. Secondly, she already got entangled with another and the Helios…‘That was her past. You've been with other women’ he growled. That was right. It was ridiculous for me to be upset about her past history with other men. But the ca
