I opened my eyes, startled by the cries that were coming from next to me. Why was there someone crying in my room? I was so shocked to hear the sound of crying that I quickly jumped from the bed. My feet hurt as I tried to stand and there was a dull throb by my side. Staring down at the pink crying baby, the memories came flooding in. Alaric giggled as I tickled his side. He was such a happy baby. He hardly ever cried and always had a smile on his face. As I put Alaric in his clothes for the day, my thoughts drifted. I couldn't stop thinking about King Tyron and his sudden change. Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months. Soon, it was two months already since Alaric had been with us. From the estimate, he would be around six months.
