Diane's POV

Changing Owen's mind proved futile. I had no choice but to prepare for the damned brunch just as Lucius wanted.

My heart was twisted with hatred as I slipped on a blue dress I found in the wardrobe. I wanted to scream at Lucius and tell him how horrible he was but Owen was in the room. As much as I wanted to let out my emotions, I couldn't risk traumatizing the poor kid.

I packed my hair to the top of my head and applied just a lip gloss then I stepped out of the walk-in closet to find Lucius and Owen, ready and waiting for me.

"Mummy, pretty!" Owen said and a natural smile covered my face.

"Thank you, baby, you are quite handsome too!" I said, placing a kiss on the top of his head.

I expected him to come to me as he usually did but for some reason, he remained by Lucius's side.

"Mummy, Daddy?" He asked and I looked at him with confusion swimming in my eyes.

His brows were dancing and he looked giddy as he kept grinning from ear to ear like this was Christmas Eve.
