The celebration didn't end there. The team threw a party in my honor, welcoming me into the group, as the team leader.

I was flushed by their gesture, joining them in the celebration.

"What are your plans, team leader?"

"When do we start training?"

They asked, surrounding me.

All these came whelming my head, that I had to tell them to slow down.

"I was just made the team leader. Can we wait till I've fully digested this news?" I requested.

They all laughed at me, but not in a mockery. It was a friendly approach.

"We get you, Carla. Take your time. But not a long one."

In the middle of the celebration, I left, planning on heading home to meet the family.
