CARLA

Outside my school, Diego's car came pulling up close to the gate.

We have been silent throughout the drive, with our eyes trying not to fall on each other.

Well mostly me.

I'm the one who has been stealing multiple glances at Diego after the scenario between us at my home.

He just had his attention on the road, taking less gazes at me.

And whenever I saw his eyes falling my way, I would immediately look away with my heart racing.

I couldn't help but feel somehow shy before Diego, even though we've been relating with each other for long now.

When he came to a stop outside my school, we just sat there, staring at the gate.

Well, mostly me. I was feeling too nervous to even look Diego's way.

I had my hands drumming on my knee, lowering my gaze away from the gate, down to my lap where my bag was settled.

I'm already here at school, but I wasn't ready to step out. My body wasn't prepared to make a move. It's like it was waiting for something to happen.

"We're here," Diego finally sa
